Phoenix POV
I sighed as I threw my quill down.
I leaned back in my desk chair and sighed, looking around my room.
It had plain, white walls, with one light pink one where my bed was. I had a large Gryffindor banner over my closet, and a full book case. Both muggle and witch books.
I pulled my legs up to my chest and rested my chin on my knees, clad in my soft green pajama bottoms.
“Hey, Phee, I’m going out, you want to come?” Leo asked, leaning on my door frame in jeans, a plain white t-shirt and a leather jacket. I shook my head no, making my pale hair float out of my braid.
“Oh…’Kay then…West’s with Vee…Thought you’d wanna get out…He’ll be back in a bit.” He mumbled, giving me a smile as he walked down the steps.
I sighed, and spun my chair around so I could look out the window. It was dark; just about to rain it looked like. I sighed, and thought sadly about how sad it was that I was alone on a Saturday night. Usually Leo was here with me on Saturday nights. But, when the Wests are away, the Leos will play.
And then tell me every detail. Every detail.
I moved my gaze from the clouds to a clipped peacock feather quill that was dripping with sparkly royal blue ink. I kept my gaze at it, trying to make it move.
I overheard West talking to someone in his study a few weeks ago, they were talking about me and Leo, about how we were more powerful younger than West and someone named Waverly.
Lately I’ve thought a lot about that name. Waverly. Lockheart called me Waverly almost every day, the note under my mattress was to a Waverly. West was talking about someone named Waverly to the guy. The man he was talking to was older, and sounded tired. I sighed and stopped trying to move the quill.
I jumped as I heard Hedwig’s thoughts in my mind, clear as day.
Oh did you have to slam that? I was sleeping!-Oh, dear, what’s wrong?
I popped over to Harry’s room. Literally, in a puff of light pink flames I landed on the foot of Harry’s bed.
“Hey Harry,” I said cheerfully, not wanting him to know I was listing to what his owl was thinking. He didn’t know about mine and Leo’s powers.
“Hi,” he snapped, falling on the floor next to his bed. He had a frustrated look on his face.
“What happened?” I asked carefully, sitting cross-leged on the floor next to him.
“She insulted my parents.” He said shakily. “She-She-I-I-Accidental magic!” he said, jumping up and paced the room. “I blew her up!” he bellowed as he fell face first onto his bed.
“Who? Petunia?” I guessed.
“Aunt Marge,” he growled into his pillow. I rolled my eyes. I knew her. She told me to get off the hippie farm and cut my hair. It wasn’t that long! It was only to my waist!
I wonder what it was about us, both me and Leo had long hair. His was almost past his shoulders now, I was going to make him cut it before we went back to Hogwarts.
“That’s the last straw.” He said suddenly, pulling his trunk out of the closet.
“What-Where are you going?” I asked, thinking I looked pretty odd yelling at my best friend in my pajama pants and my Weasley jumped from last year (it was a pretty gold color that looked like it was out of the 70’s and a light pink heart on the front, she looked so sad as she gave it to me) and my green pajama pants.
