Phoenix POV

"We only have ten minutes!" Hermione said as Buckbeak landed swiftly in an empty courtyard. I saw Leo appear in a familiar swirl of blue, and Trinket appear a few feet behind him.

"Yeah," Harry said, nodding as he helped me off. I could get down off Buckbeak, or Beaky as he lets very few call him, just fine on my own, but Harry grabbed my hand and seemed to be set on helping me down no matter my say in it. I felt that strong, dragon-like fluttering in my belly again, but it was quickly dulled when Harry helped Hermione down the same way. I really didn't like that dragon feeling and I'd sell my wand to know what the hell it was from.

"Would you...Would you four give us a second?" Trinket asked from her spot, back a few feet, leaning on one of the broken pillars.

"Yeah, of course," I said before Harry could get anything out. He looked at me with an irritated look as I dragged him towards the other side of the courtyard.

"Why'd you do that?" Harry asked me once we where out of earshot. "I have questions for him-"

"Harry," I started, staring up at him from the seat on the bench I'd taken. Buckbeak came over and nuzzled my shoulder with his downy head, lightly hinting to me to get the small twigs, leaves, and the louse feathers out of the downy feathers on his head he couldn't reach. "Well who did it for you before?" I asked him, holding up a finger to Harry and the others, signaling them to wait.

Uh... Buckbeak's inner voice faltered. Well...L-Lady Copperhead-

"Say no more," I said quickly, and set to picking out the debris in his steel gray feathers. "Ok, as I was saying-What?" I asked, seeing the looks I was getting.

"It's-It's just...That-That thing you just did..." Hermione stuttered, trying not to be insulting to me I guessed. She glanced at Harry, who was looking at me like I just said I was a descendant of Merlin. "It's going to take some getting used to."

"Bloody well does," Leo grumbled, shoving his hands in his pockets as he toed the cobblestone ground, the rubber of his sneaker turnning a grayish-brown from the dirt.

"Once Sirius leaves, I'm not sure when I'm going to see him next! Why aren't we talking to him?" Harry asked, jumping abruptly back to the original topic.

I rolled my eyes and motioned for him and Hermione to sit on the bench with me. Hermione got it right away, a soft smile on her face, while Harry looked confused. "Look," I said, nodding towards my parents.

Sirius had his arms loosely around my mum's waist, while she was on her tiptoes so their foreheads where pressed together. I laughed a bit, my mum had to go on her tiptoes, and dad still had to lean down some. I saw their lips moving as they stood there with closed eyes. Now and then their lips would flicker up in a smile. I saw my dad carefully unclasp a chain from around her neck, and pull one of the three rings off the slim silver chain. After, as a slightly confused Trinket struggled to re-clasp her necklace, Sirius quickly riffled threw his robes, ending up ripping part of a small seem. I sighed and tilted my head to the side as I saw Trinket smile, even though her eyes looked on the verge of tears. They went back to the position they where in, her hands around his neck, his around her waist. This time they kept their eyes open and they started speaking to each other again.

"It's so romantic," Hermione sighed as my father slid the dark ring onto my mum's left ring finger, and my mum slid the silvery one on his left ring finger. Harry rolled his eyes, leaning back on the wall behind us, while Leo scoffed and turned his back to them. Harry rolled his eyes again, completely averting them as Sirius put both of his hands on my mum's shoulders and kissed her forehead, making her laugh once, even though she still looked near tears, before he moved one hand to hold the side of her face as he kissed her properly.

Once they parted, she smiled up at him as she tried to brush part of his matted hair back. After the attempt failed, she sent a smile to all of us, it faltered slightly at the end when she saw Leo's back to them, and disappeared in a puff of pink fire.

Sirius stood still for a moment before walking closer to us. "She-She's going to make sure we have an extra five minutes." He said, sounding dazed.

"Yeah...Where are you going to go?" Harry asked, jumping up from the bench.

My dad shrugged before he spoke. "I'm not sure. Somewhere quite far away, until the Prophet stops reporting sightings-Oof!" He was cut off, probably from lack of air flow, when I jumped up and hugged him as hard as I could. He chuckled, tentatively wrapping his arms around me in return.

"Will you write?" I asked, looking up at him, still hugging him. He looked like he was holding in a grin as he nodded. "Every week?" He nodded again. "Promise?"

"Yes, I promise," he said, chuckling still.

"Me too, right?" Harry asked. Poor thing musta' felt left out.

"Of course," Black said, giving me a tight squeeze before, like he had to my mum, put both hands on my shoulders and pressed a scratchy, whiskery kiss to my forehead.

"Is there a story behind that?" I asked him, his hands still on my shoulders.

"Yes, and one day I'll tell you," he promised, giving my cheek an affectioned pat before he went over to Harry. He put a hand on his shoulder and led him a few feet away so they could speak.

"Aren't you going to say anything to him?" I heard Hermione ask Leo, who was still facing the wall, watching as he tapped the toe of his sneaker on the ground.

"Already did. In the tower." He mumbled. "Ah damnit," he growled, pulling his hands out of his pockets, smoldering blue. I saw smoke curling up from his pockets. "I really liked these pants." He pouted childishly.

"I'll mend them later, aren't you going to say anything to your own father?" Hermione asked, really bothered about the whole thing.

"Hermione, don't-" I started.

"That man may be why I'm here, be he sure as hell isn't a father." Leo snapped at us, then popped into a ball of blue fire and flitted away in a blur.

I frowned, gnawing on my inner lip. I expected something like this from him in the beginning, but this wasn't letting up. It worried me.

Lady Phoenix? I heard Buckbeak say, gently nudging my elbow. I am forever in your debt, and as such it is not my place to tell you how I shall repay it, but as both I, and your father are condemned to a similar fate, it only make sense for us to flee. As your father doesn't have a wand, and I am capable of flying to evade capture, perhaps an agreement could be reached?

I grinned and rubbed Beakey's neck. "I think so," I said, still smiling. "Come on, let me introduce you properly." I said, walking towards my dad, the hippogriff following me.

Sorry! This seems so short!
