Chapter 43: Heartless

He softly planted a kiss on her forehead, and tugged her carefully into the blanket. 

He left the room and closed the door carefully behind and went to his study room.

The following morning, Tasleem woke up from sleep. 

She opened her eyes and found that it was a little bright outside. But the man beside her was gone already. She let out a sign of relief. After everything that happened last night, she doesn't know how to face Rayyan anymore, so she decided to avoid him. 

She lifted the blanket and got out of bed, ready to wash up. She had a class this morning. She headed to the door. She hesitated for a while before she slowly opened the door.

But as soon as she stepped out she bumped into a strong chest. She looked up and their eyes met.

It's very clear she's sneaking out, "Did the bump hurt you?" Rayyan asked, as he stretched out his hand to massage her reddened nose tip. He spoke in his usual cold voice, but in an indulging tone that was hardly noticeable.

Tasleem's entire face flushed at his sudden touch. "It... It is okay!"

Seeing her well, Rayyan withdrew his hand and walked into the room as if nothing had happened.

Tasleem finished getting ready and headed downstairs, she checked the time it was 7:26 AM. 

Rayyan came out of the kitchen with two glass cups filled with fruit juice. He was wearing a white shirt. The sleeves were folded up, showing his strong arms. "Let's eat before leaving." He said. And headed to the dining area.

He made breakfast? What's happening? He looked like a completely different man.

Rayyan turned around and noticed the absent-minded Tasleem. He lifted the corner of his lips and smiled slightly. "I can feed you if you want." He said in a teasing manner.

Tasleem flushed and hurried to the dining table and sat down. "I can eat on my own!" She said while avoiding his eyes. She had no clue that he was teasing her on purpose.

Seeing her flush even more, Rayyan's lips stretched to a wider degree. He wanted to tease her more and more, seeing her embarrassment.

He made five avocado toast with fruit juice. He put three on her plate and started eating.

He watched her as she took a big bite.. "is it good?" He asked her.

She nodded her head while chewing.

He felt happy that she liked it.. this was the first time he made something for her to eat. 

They soon finished their breakfast and headed to the parking lot. He opened the car door for her and said, "Get in." She got in and he closed the car door. 

They soon reached the school. "I'll come and pick you up later."

Tasleem said softly, "Thank you, but you don't have to, Zainab will drop me off."

Rayyan frowned slightly. He didn't understand why Tasleem wanted to stay away from him.

Was she so uncomfortable living with him?

Rayyan didn't want to force her to make her feel more uncomfortable, he took a deep breath and said, "Alright. But wait for me for dinner."

Tasleem's lips moved. She wanted to say no but seeing Rayyan's annoyed face, she found it difficult to say anything. What if he suddenly turned into the bad guy that he was and lashed out at her?

She nodded and agreed in the end.

Rayyan felt much better seeing her nodding obediently.

She left the car and went into the school, Tasleem felt much more comfortable when she parted from Rayyan.
