Months slipped by, and the new year arrived as the cold settled in.
Two young women stepped out of the salon, the door closing behind them.
Tasleem pouted, her lips pushed forward as she complained, "I just feel tired and sleepy all the time. Maybe it's the weather."
Amira rolled her eyes, a smile tugging at her mouth. "You've just become lazy, that's why."
Tasleem glared at her and said, "You're the lazy one, you sleep like a pig."
Amira shook her head, saying nothing, and slid the sunglasses from her head down over her eyes.
They had not taken two more steps when they stopped. a pair of shoes stopped in front of them, a man's expensive bespoke leather shoes.
Amira hooked her arm through Tasleem's and stepped around the man as he tried to block their path again.
Amira moved her sunglasses to her head to get a clear view of the rude man.
"Can we talk?" They heard his cold and clear voice. "Tasleem." He called her name.
The sound made Tasleem shiver. She slowly raised her head and saw Nuab, in a black suit with a black coat draped over him.
Tasleem frowned, she was so unfortunate to meet Nuab here of all places. What was he doing here? They have only met once and not even qualified for acknowledging each other in public. Is he keeping tabs on her?
Tasleem had no intention of saying anything. She looked at Amira who immediately stepped around him again, and they both started walking to the car.
However, Prince Nuab did not intend to let them go so easily, he stepped forward and blocked their path again. "Tasleem, please wait a moment."
Amira immediately stepped forward in front of Tasleem. Glaring at Nuab, her voice stern. "Who are you, and what are you doing?"
Nuab looked past Amira at Tasleem's face. "Tasleem, can I have a word?" He said.
At that moment, Tasleem remembered Rayyan's warning, 'If you meet this man, stay away.' she replied, "No."
Prince Nuab spoke lightly, "I think we should talk, if not... I fear you'll regret it."
Amira huffed, "Hey, I'm talking to you. Do you not understand me? My sister-in-law said she doesn't wish to speak to you. Are you mentally disturbed?" She intentionally mentioned sister-in-law to let him know that Tasleem is married to her brother, but the rude man wasn't even looking at her.
Amira gritted her teeth hard, this moron, she would teach him a lesson today. She walked away from Naub and opened the car to pick up a bottle of water.
Was he threatening her? "And if I don't agree?" Tasleem spoke tensely.
Prince Nuab simply smiled. "No problem. I've got time today. I think I can wait until you are willing to have a chat with me."
Without waiting for Tasleem to speak, Amira rolled her sleeves up. "Hey, I've never met a man as shameless as you. Who are you? You're just a little good looking, a little taller, now that I look at you clearly, you look like a gigolo and you dare to come up and act macho. If I didn't teach you a lesson today I wouldn't be my father's daughter."
Tasleem's eyes widened. Amira sure is tick skinned. She actually dared to call this man a gigolo.
It was not just Tasleem who was shocked, even Nuab was stunned. It must have been the first time he had been insulted by someone that way.
Tasleem reached out to pull Amira to tell her that the man she abused was, in fact, a prince.
Amira pushed Tasleem's hand away and pointed the bottle water at Nuab's face, and said, "Why are you trying to talk to a married woman? Have you looked at yourself clearly? Do you think by wearing a black suit, you can act like you're some big shot? Pfff"... She laughed mockingly.
Tasleem knew in her heart that Nuab was a dangerous man. For Amira to insult him this badly, she did not think that he was going to be very understanding and let them off easily.
Tasleem spoke softly, "He's a Prince?"
Amira did not understand. "What Prince?
Tasleem said, "He's a Prince, Prince Nuab."
Amira paused and then broke out in laughter. "What Prince? He... Him? How does he look like a prince? He looks entirely like a... I... "
Amira could no longer say anything. She suddenly felt that her legs had gone weak. Luckily, Tasleem was next to her to support her.
Amira asked softly, "What should I do?"
The man was looking at Amira coldly.
Tasleem pulled Amira aside and stood forward. "Didn't you want to have a chat with me? Please."
Amira held onto Tasleem. She gives Nuab a sideways glance, as he looks at her with a malicious, cunning look on his face. Cold as an ice sculpture. Amira shuddered and spoke softly. "Regardless of who he is, you can obviously tell he is not a good person!"
Tasleem smiled awkwardly and said, "Get in the car and wait for me."
Amira muttered softly, "No, we are in this together, what can he do to us in broad daylight. worst-case scenario we can just shout and call for help."
Prince Nuab gave Amira a cold look and looked back at Tasleem. He didn't beat around the bush and got to the point. "Who are you? Where are you from?" He asked.
Tasleem gave him a serious look, "If you want to know, then you should ask my husband. Why are you asking me instead?"
"It has nothing to do with him, I came to ask you directly." He answered calmly.
"Are you keeping tabs on me?"
"Can't be helped. You attract a lot of attention,"
She looked at him with disdain and said, "I'm a married woman."
"I never said I like you," he smiled. "You didn't answer my question."
This man is not to be trusted, "Why are you asking her these questions?" Amira suddenly interjected.
Nuab's expression remained cold as he said, "If you didn't answer my question, don't even think about leaving with her," he pointed at Amira.
Amira's eyes widened.
Tasleem said, "I can see that you're a calm and rational person, and you're older than us, sure enough you will forgive us and not stir things up. Let's all calm down."
The conversation had finally steered to threats. "So what if you're a prince? Should we be afraid of you? Are you going to kill me or what? I dare you!" Amira said.
"In this world, plenty of things are much scarier than death." He said to her,
Amira awkwardly glared at him. "My brother wouldn't take this lightly."
"Seems like you're relying on your brother a lot, I'm curious to see how long he can protect you." Nuab said.
Amira held Tasleem's hand tightly, suddenly, she threw the water bottle in her hand at him and they both made a mad dash toward the car and got inside.
With lightning-quick reflex, Amira slammed her foot on the accelerator and sped away immediately.
Tasleem looked at Amira speechlessly. She "We're screwed." It's very clear that the man held grudges. Hopefully, he would not give Amira any trouble in the future.
