The wedding was set to be held in two months.

The groom’s family arrived.

One after another, women dressed in luxurious lace and rich Ankara outfits stepped into the living room, their perfumes blending with the soft scent of burning incense that filled the house. Behind them, men carried in beautifully decorated boxes wrapped with golden ribbons. placing them carefully in the living room.

Soft murmurs spread across the room as everyone admired the boxes arranged before them. Some of the boxes contained expensive perfumes, laces, designer fabrics, elegant abayas, handbags, jewelry, shoes, and countless other thoughtful items prepared for the bride to be.

Hajia Hafsat smiled warmly, her eyes shining with happiness. “I’m truly glad that we will become in-laws, Halima,” she said gently. “May Allah bless their union, fill their home with peace and love, and bless them with righteous and healthy children.”

“Ameen,” everyone responded almost at once.

Hajia Fatima’s face remained deeply frowned, making no attempt to hide the displeasure burning within her. The bitterness she felt was written clearly across her face for everyone observant enough to notice.

When her own daughter had shown interest in marrying Rayyan, the family showed no interest. and support was nowhere to be found. Yet now, suddenly, Yasim wanted to marry Amira, and no one seemed to have a single complaint. Instead, smiles filled the room, prayers were offered happily, and everyone acted as though it was the most perfect union imaginable.

To Hajia Fatima, it only confirmed one thing, the family had never truly liked her or her daughter.

The realization burned painfully inside her chest.

She was angry beyond words.

In fact, she had purposely attended the gathering today just to witness the family’s pretense with her own eyes. And unfortunately for her temper, every sweet smile and cheerful laughter around the room only fueled her anger even more.

A quiet hiss escaped her lips as her sharp gaze landed on Mamie, fury flickering openly in her eyes. She watched her smile at the guests so freely, and the sight alone irritated her deeply.

She suddenly stood up from the sofa, her sudden movement drawing the attention of everyone. Her eyes swept across the living room, glaring coldly at everyone present as if their happiness personally offended her.

Without saying a single word, Hajia Fatima adjusted her veil and stormed out of the living room in anger.

Everyone noticed the way Hajia Fatima left, but aside from a couple of exchanged glances, no one truly paid her any attention.

The conversations soon continued as though nothing had happened.

In the evening, all the guests had left, yet Rayyan still wasn't here, so Tasleem decided to sleep over for the night.

Amira stood in front of the large mirror, carefully applying a layer of glossy lip balm to her lips. She admired her appearance for a brief moment. She was dressed in a beautiful peach-colored gown that complimented her complexion perfectly.

She was going on a date night with Yasim.

Reaching for her favorite Kayali perfume on the dresser, she sprayed on her dress and wrists. The sweet scent instantly filled the room, She smiled faintly at her reflection before adjusting her veil neatly.

She turned and looked at Tasleem who was seated on the bed. "How do I look?" She asked.

"Stunning babe, you look like Ya Yasim's wife. Oh my god, you look amazing." Tasleem exaggeratedly said.
