Chapter 80: He Didn't Give Her Any Chance At All

After covering Tasleem with the blanket, Rayyan left with his phone.

When Rayyan reached the company and sat on his office chair, a beeping sound came from his phone. He looked at the message: 'CEO Rayyan, it's me, Zarina Magu. I don't know if you have time tonight, I want to treat you and your wife to a meal. Whether or not we can work together, there's no need for us to be strangers right? After all, we've known each other since childhood, and we're both doing business. Maybe we can work together again next time?'

'We are not familiar with each other,' Rayyan typed disdainfully. 'Besides, we won't be working together in the future. I hope that you won't call me again, I don't want to waste my time on unnecessary people and things.' 

With that, Rayyan sent the text message and blocked the number, his eyes filled with disgust.

The sound of a knock got Rayyan's attention and he looked up, and Assistant Sa'eed came in with an iPad in his hand. "Boss, President Andrew is holding a business banquet tomorrow. He will be inviting all the businessmen in the city. He sent you an invitation too." He looked at Rayyan's clouded face.

"What's the schedule for tomorrow?" Rayyan asked annoyingly.

"You only have a meeting with the marketing department."

"Alright, we are going." 

"Boss, our man reported that Khalid has been meeting a foreign woman for a while now." Assistant Sa'eed said. 

Khalid's name ruined Rayyan's mood even more. "He must be living happily then." He said, "find out who she is." He added. 

No one had noticed that Khalid was missing here,   because Sa'eed sent a message to Khalid's parents with Khalid's phone, telling them that he went to the US to further his knowledge on surgery.

But he knew that soon, the Family would notice that something is wrong and he needs to give them an explanation for that.

Zarina was sitting in her office, when she finally received the phone call she had been waiting for. When her phone rang, she immediately picked it up. "Hey, you did." She said, her expression changed in a second, anger and jealousy visible in her eyes. "She's pregnant!" She shouted. 

"What does his wife have to do with you making him fall for you?" The other party laughed. 

She threw the teacup on her table, it shattered with a sound. "It matters to me, how dare you say that?" She screamed angrily. 

The man was completely unfazed by her scream, he laughed again. "Zari, I thought you're smart, but I didn't expect you to be so stupid. Only stupid women would deal with other women when smart women deal with men."

Zarina gritted her teeth. Of course, she knew that she should make a move on Rayyan. However, Rayyan didn't give her any chance at all, she didn't know how to make a move now.

That's why she wanted to know who that woman was. "I need to understand her and understand why Rayyan likes her. Only then I can adjust my methods! But now she's even pregnant."

"You don't need to know who she is. It's enough as long as you can snatch Rayyan away from her."

"Why?" Zarina gritted her teeth. "You just want me to do all the work, while it's you who causes all this mess to the company." It is him who caused trouble for the RH corporation branch in Europe.

"Zarina, your brain should be on Rayyan, not me. If you can't do it, we will find someone else to do it, after all Father trusted me with the company's matters more than you."

That was her sore spot. Just because she's a woman, father thinks her brother is better than her. Even after all the things she achieved for the company. 

She's supposed to be the CEO of Three Kings Group. She deserves it in every way. But why does everyone think her brother is better than her?

Zarina was about to speak when the other party hung up. She threw her phone on the ground. and the screen shattered. After a while, her other phone rang. Zarina picked it up and said, "Hello.."

"Miss Zarina, I've just received the latest news. Tomorrow President Andrew will be holding a business banquet. He will be inviting all the businessmen. Your brother was invited, CEO Rayyan will probably be there too."

Her eyes flashed with anger, he invited her brother but not her? "Find a way to get me an invitation,"

When Tasleem woke up she was shocked when she saw Mamie. She thought she was dreaming until Mamie hugged her excitedly. 

"Mamie, when did you come?" Tasleem asked in surprise. 

"Not long ago," Mamie said with a smile. "I was worried about leaving you to Rayyan to take care of you and my first grandchildren. Of course, I'm the one who should do it. And Rayyan said you're not eating well."

Tasleem held onto Mamie's arm and smiled, her big white eyes filled with tears, she asked excitedly."Then, are you staying here with us?" She couldn't keep her emotions in check, because now every little thing makes her cry, happy or mad.

Mamie smiled and said, "For a while. I have to come and take care of you, at this time no one is more important than you. Is there anything you want to eat? How's your body?" She looked at Tasleem's frail body with concern.

Tasleem shook her head, "I don't want to eat anything, fruit is the only thing I could keep down now." She feels nauseous just by the thought of food.

"I'll make you something sour, let's see if you can eat it." Mamie said. "Go back to sleep, I'll go to the kitchen."

Tasleem got down from the bed and said, "I'll help you."

"No, you should rest more."

Tasleem looked at her with her big white eyes expectantly, "Mamie, I've been sleeping all day. It's better if I move a little now." 

Mamie nodded, not able to refuse her, "Let's go." She said,

They both left the room.

When they went to the kitchen, brought out the chicken, Tasleem immediately felt nauseated, vomited twice, and eventually left the kitchen.

In the evening, Rayyan came back, and they were seated in the living room. He moved closer to Tasleem and hugged her by her shoulder. 

Tasleem pushed him away, "Don't come so close." She glared at him. 

He closed the distance between them and hugged her again, "What's wrong with me hugging my wife." He lowered his head and kissed Tasleem on the cheek. "I just want to talk to my kids." He said, as he looked at the woman in his arms.

Tasleem hurriedly pushed him away and looked around, "You and your false reasoning, you're just shameless, what if Mamie saw us?" She said,

"But we could sit close to each other right?" He said and moved closer to her. "After all, we are married."

Tasleem wasn't convinced, "But don't touch me," she warned him.

"Okay," he said and still held her hand, massaging it gently.

Tasleem knew no matter what she said he wouldn't stop so she let him be. 

After a while Auntie informed them that dinner was ready, so Rayyan eventually left to eat.
