After hanging up the phone,  Sa'eed who was sitting beside him called. "Boss. We have successfully. Got the land."
Happy with the outcome, Rayyan praised, "Good job, Sa'eed, good job." After transferring another two million to Tasleem's account, he went into the bathroom. It took a while before he stepped out, feeling refreshed after working non-stop for the past few days.
He walked over to the sofa and settled in comfortably, flipping open his Apple laptop on the center table. The glow of the screen lit up as he began working, his fingers moving swiftly across the keyboard. He looked relaxed and a small smile appeared on his face. His mind wondered for a moment, remembering the way Tasleem called him "hubby." The word echoed sweetly in his mind. He loved it with everything in him.

It was very late when Tasleem woke up. Her stomach grumbled. She felt hungry. She hadn't eaten a proper meal since Rayyan went on a business trip.
She quickly freshened up and wore a white shirt with blue jeans and headed to the kitchen. She made pasta with sauce. And settled in the living room.
The house was quiet, curtains were drawn. The light was off. Making the living room dim. Giving a relaxing atmosphere. She picked the remote control and the big screen lit up, she chose 'The Little Mermaid' on Netflix and the movie started playing.
The day keeps dragging on and the afternoon quietly settles in.
Tasleem was putting food on Snowy's plate. At that moment, she was lost in thought when she felt a chill coming from behind her. She realised that it was the same feeling she felt for the past few days. But this time it was different. It reeked with danger, which caused Tasleem's body to immediately react.
When Snowy noticed that Tasleem stopped her action of putting food on the plate. It curiously raised its head and moaned. "Moeww." Snowy suddenly looked behind Tasleem and moaned aggressively, as if sensing danger.
Tasleem slowly stood up, her heart accelerated as she started forcing herself to turn around. She knew that someone was behind her and she felt to her bone that she was in grave danger. She could feel it. She tried to convince herself that it was just her imagination and that maybe, it was just a ghost, she was terrified of ghosts. And she doesn't hear the sound of the door opening earlier. Maybe it was indeed a ghost. She tries to convince herself.
She swallowed and her mind prepared for her to scream, however, her throat suddenly dried up like a well in the desert. At the end, she murmured the dua her mind could come up with. The aura that the person was emitting was too strong for her to handle that her body had surrendered before she realized it.
She gripped the edge of her shirt tightly as she tried to force her body to move. She knew she couldn't run at this rate. And thus she decided to turn and look behind her.
But before she could move, the person's voice made her freeze in place.
"Tasleem, don't be scared, it's me." The voice said and Tasleem's eyes widened. She turned to the source of the voice and the person she saw shocked her.
"Ya Khalid...?" She called out his name. Khalid was there, standing a few steps away from her. When did he get here? "How did you get in?" She asked.
He lustfully looked at her from head to toe. He licked his lips as if looking at a delicious feast in front of him. "From the door obviously, I knocked out the gate man and tied him up. So that no one will disturb us, I did a good job right?"
Tasleem noticed his action and she felt nauseated at the moment. She swallowed as she finally realized that the situation was more dangerous than she thought. He was different, his eyes were different. She tried to keep calm and hide her panic. "What do you want?" She asked.
Khalid saw through her facade and laughed out loud. Yes! This is what makes everything more exciting. He wanted to touch her face but Tasleem took two steps back.
He mockingly said. "Very good. I like your attitude in the face of danger. This is what makes everything more exciting! I thought Abaya suited you, but this shirt and jeans is something else. I had never expected it to look so good on you. Tell me, what should I do? I love you more and more, every day."
He looked at her and sized her up again. He couldn't help imagining all the things he wanted to do to her. Her dark hair was in contrast with her fair skin and pink lips. She looked so beautiful. He had seen many beautiful women before. But Tasleem's beauty was different, she was pure and innocent. She was someone you could never forget when you saw her.
Tasleem's fear and dislike for this man had only increased by the minute. He tried to come close to her and touch her every time he spoke but Tasleem managed to keep her distance. "Don't you have any shame? I'm a married woman."
He got increasingly bolder as time went by. "Apparently you are married to each other. But that doesn't stop me. If anything, it makes you all the more intriguing to me. Tell me, if you were to ever sleep with another man, would he be so devastated that he would kill himself?" Khalid laughed loudly, imagining Rayyan's fury.
Anything that made Rayyan unhappy, gave Khalid immense happiness.
Tasleem knew that this man was psychotic. How did he even handle a patient? He tried to touch her hair, but Tasleem slapped his hand away. And she disgustingly rubbed her hand on her jeans.
Khalid's eyes were full of anger and hatred. "Don't think I can't touch you. Rayyan can't protect you all the time. You're not that important to him. He never cared about a woman before and you're not an exception."
"I still love him regardless."
"Do you know.... Tasleem, when we were young, Hajiya Inna brought us a robot but Rayyan got the black one. And I got the red one and Yasim got the blue one. But I want the black one first. A few days later. Rayyan went out with Mamie and I got the chance to take the robot away. I dug out a hole in our garden and buried it. And when Rayyan came back, I blamed it on Yasmin, I said that I saw him with it. You see... Tasleem, when I can't make something mine, I have to destroy it at the end. So, don't be stubborn."
Tasleem understood the meaning of his word. She wanted to slap him but she knew better than to do that. She didn't want to anger this monster any further. "You know that my husband would never let you off right?"
Khalid laughed and said. "Don't try to fool me, I know he's not around. Don't worry, we will take our time. I'm not in a hurry anyway." He giggled in excitement.
He started walking slowly towards her and Tasleem moved back.
Her back touched the cold wall and she felt her hope and energy drained away. She knows she's not a match to him when it comes to strength. She wanted to shout but tears came out instead.
She looked vulnerable and timid. Is this how it will end?
More tears rolled down her cheeks.
When Khalid stopped just less than a meter before her, she couldn't help but bite her bottom lip. The man was scrutinizing her, looking at her again like she was some prey. She knew with one look into those eyes that 'dangerous' was an understatement to describe him.
She saw him take out a blue handkerchief and blow a white smoke on her face.
Instinctly, she turned her face away as she shut her eyes. A minute passed but nothing happened. Slowly, Tasleem opened her eyes.
He did not say a word. And he smiled at her.
She felt her energy draining, she knew that the thing he blew on her face wasn't normal. She felt dizzy. She asked. "What did you... do to me?" Her voice barely above a whisper.
Before she lost consciousness she heard Khalid say. "It's okay, I'll take good care of you."
