Soft, golden light filtered through the french window.

Rayyan's gaze shifted from the financial reports spread before him. To his laptop screen. The laptop's glow illuminated his sharp features, highlighting the curves of his lips and the coldness in his dark eyes. His long eyelashes kept his thoughts well hidden.

He wasn't feeling himself these days, the employee felt pressured by his overbearing presence. Making sure they are careful with their work, so as not to make a mistake that will lead to their death end.

His eyes remained fixed on his laptop screen, scanning rows of financial data and market analysis. His thoughts refused to settle. His office surroundings blurred into the background as he tried to focus on the data that required his undivided attention.

Secretary Maryam knocked softly on the door.

"Come in."

The door opened, and she stepped inside. "Sir, this is the file you asked for," she said, placing the folder on his desk.

Without glancing up, Rayyan replied, "You can leave."

Secretary Maryam glanced at his face and nodded. She didn't know what happened to him. But she knew he was bothered about something.. he had been overworking himself and sometimes he'll space out. She wanted to ask him, but she was scared too, knowing fully well what'll come after that.

She withdrew, closing the door behind her.

Rayyan's gaze didn't falter, his eyes scanning the data. His phone buzzed, breaking the silence. He glanced at it. Hamid's name flashed on the screen. He frowned and picked up the call.

"Our latest groom in town, where are you?" Hamid's booming voice echoed through the line.

He intentionally ignored the first remark. "I'm in the office," he replied.

"WHAT??" Habib and Hamid exclaimed.

"How----"

He didn't wait for them to finish as he hung up on them.

He started typing on his keyboard.  His eyes scanned the data as his fingers continued typing.   The sound echoed through the office, providing a subtle background melody.

Suddenly, the door flung open. Habib and Hamid rushed in..

"Man, you shouldn't be here.." Hamid said.

"Exactly, you're the groom for God's sake."

Rayyan glared at them. He lowered his head, his deep eyes focused on his laptop screen. Emotional without a hint of warmth, he said. "You should knock before coming in. That's basic manners."

Hamid sat on the sofa as he looked at both of them with interest. They were shocked when Rayyan informed them about his marriage.. as he's the best when it comes to relationships he never thought Rayyan would be married before him.

"What are you doing? you've to understand that you're the groom, you're married now, come on." Habib said, his hands on his hips as he looked at Rayyan.

"Aren't you interfering too much?" Rayyan asked coldly. "Has my marriage become something within your job commitments?"

"I'm concerned about your marriage as a friend."

"Then you might as well worry about yourself and reflect on why you don't even have a girlfriend."

Habib was speechless.

"Pfff.." Hamid burst into laughter.

Habib stared coldly at him. "Very good. Continue laughing, but put in mind, one day you'll choke." Habib said, he pursed his lips, looking indifferent. As he sat down beside Hamid.
