Chapter 81: After Tonight...

"Okay," he said and still held her hand, massaging it gently.

Tasleem knew no matter what she said he wouldn't stop so she let him be. 

After a while Auntie informed them that dinner was ready, so Rayyan eventually left to eat.

It was the day of the banquet

President Andrew had suddenly decided to host a business banquet, all the preparations had already been completed by around 7 in the evening. The entire street was monitored by countless armed police. With countless camera men and photographers outside the area. 

Rayyan and his Assistant with a black man as their body guard arrived at the entrance with his limousine. He was supposed to bring his wife as well, but she was pregnant now. It was not safe and chaotic here, he could not bear to let Tasleem go through all this. 

They entered the large hall on the first floor, where a buffet-style dinner party was taking place. President Andrew had hired chefs and kitchen crew from a five-star hotel to feed the guests at the banquet.

Long rectangular tables with white, pristine tablecloths had been set up in the venue. The chefs and waiters, dressed in neat uniforms and white chef's hats, weaved through the venue like busy bees as they laid out tables with sumptuous food and delicacies from all over the country. 

There was even a barbecue pit in the garden, someone was tending to it, grilling the most expensive cuts of beef and chicken.

Lively music began to play, and the atmosphere in the venue was once cheerful and buoyant.

They saw many familiar faces.

Many people came over to greet him. "CEO Rayyan, why didn't you bring a female companion?" 

Rayyan looked distant and indifferent. "No need." He answered.

A man in a brown suit asked, "CEO Rayyan, I heard that Three Kings Group is trying to sign a new project with you, but you refused. I wonder if this is true?"

Rayyan furrowed in annoyance, "It's true," he answered simply. 

In front of outsiders, Rayyan was no different from before he married Tasleem, the only change was that in front of Tasleem he became talkative, clingy, and wife-crazy. 

Suddenly, he heard someone beside him say, "Who's that? She's really beautiful, I'll go and get to know her later."

Assistant Sa'eed glanced sideways and saw Zarina in a pearl-white dress, swaying into the venue. She was indeed a little flirtatious. "It's Miss Zarina." Sa'eed whispered in Rayyan's ears.

Rayyan's frown deepened.

He called his bodyguard over, "Pay attention to the woman who came in now, keep an eye on her. Don't let her do anything."

"Alright." the man nodded. 

Rayyan did not believe that Zarina really had feelings for him. He felt that this woman was up to no good. He had ordered Sa'eed to lay his hands on the Three Kings Group. He had recently stolen many of their big projects, he knew how much money they had lost. 

Not long after, Zarina's brother, Zahir Magu arrived. Who doesn't know that he's a sly fox? He acted surprised to see Rayyan. "I didn't expect the famous CEO of RH Corporation to be here. I've heard so much about you. Seeing such an outstanding man, I really want my sister to come over and get to know you."

Rayyan looked at him expressionlessly, "CEO Zahir, you're too kind, but I'm married." He said indifferently and stopped paying attention to him.

Zahir laughed pretentiously and said, "it's good to be married. Married men are more responsible."

After a while Zahir signalled to his sister and left to socialise. Which didn't go unnoticed by Rayyan.

Zarina walked over with two glasses of mocktail. She smiled and said, "CEO Rayyan, I didn't expect to meet you today. I apologize for what happened the other day. I hope you don't mind. Here's a toast to you."

"My wife told me not to drink anything from the banquet," Rayyan said indifferently.

Zahira couldn't hold her smile anymore, "I didn't expect CEO Rayyan to be so henpecked." She said, 

"Yeah, I'm afraid of my wife," Rayyan replied.

Zarina gritted her teeth. With Rayyan's stubbornness, she would not be able to figure out any tricks even if she had one! 

She was anxious. If she didn't grasp this opportunity, she was worried that she wouldn't have another chance. 

"Boss, the siblings are really up to something. Why don't we retreat first?" Assistant Sa'eed whispered. 

"We'll beat them at their own game!" Rayyan was infuriated by Zarina's plastering. It was so annoying to have a fly buzzing in front of his eyes all the time. He had to get rid of it completely. 

He could not leave any loose ends outside while Tasleem was pregnant. 

Rayyan turned around and went to the washroom. Zarina immediately gestured to the people behind her. 

Zarina's Assistant walked up to Sa'eed and said with a smile, "Special Assistant Sa'eed is here too."

"I'm just a follower," Sa'eed chuckled. "I follow my boss wherever he goes."

He was holding a glass of water and a glass of fruit juice. The fruit juice was for Rayyan.

Zarina's Assistant tussled with Sa'eed for a while, then suddenly said, "Hey, the person talking to President Andrew seems to be his second son..."

Assistant Sa'eed turned his head to look. Zarina's Assistant quickly threw a pill into the juice. The pill dissolved when it came into contact with the juice and disappeared in an instant.

Zarina's Assistant said awkwardly, "Oh, I'm mistaken. I'm mistaken... Go do your work. CEO Rayyan is looking for you."

Assistant Sa'eed nodded and left. 

After a while, Rayyan came out. Sa'eed handed him the juice, and the two of them whispered to each other.

After that, Zarina watched as Rayyan drank the glass of fruit juice. Her lips curled up, and a look of determination flashed in her eyes. 

Soon she saw Rayyan leave after saying a few words to President Andrew. She gave her assistant a look.

They had to walk through a long corridor to leave the venue, but Rayyan felt something was wrong as he walked. He shook his head and fell down the next second. 

Sa'eed jumped and caught him, calling out "Boss, boss..." He felt a sharp pain in the back of his head and fell down to the ground before he could even turn around to see who it was. 

Zarina's assistant quickly appeared

After they left, Sa'eed, who had fallen to the ground and didn't care, touched the back of his head and stood up. Damn it, luckily he can take a beating. 

The banquet was held at a famous hotel in the city. Zarina had already booked a room there.

She got someone to bring Rayyan upstairs. After everything was settled, she pushed open the door to the room with excitement and joy.

The man she had been longing for and loved for more than ten years was in bed, right in front of her.

Zarina walked to the side of the bed and knelt on the floor. She looked at Rayyan's handsome face with infatuation and muttered, "Ya Rayyan, after tonight, you will realize that I'm the most suitable person for you..."
