Rayyan and Tasleem have become quite close since their interaction at Mamie's house.
As the evening descended, Rayyan pulled into the parking lot, and he switched off the engine.
He emerged from the driver's seat, and strode purposefully toward the entrance, his footsteps echoing through the evening stillness. He walked into the living room, and his gaze locked onto Tasleem, who was just stepping out of the dining room, their eyes meeting in a fleeting moment.
Tasleem wore a simple yet elegant white dress, her hair pulled back into a sleek ponytail. Her clear, luminous skin glowed in perfect harmony with the outfit, making her look like a delicate princess.
She glanced at the clock and pouted.
—Isn't he supposed to be back by 10: PM? It's only 8, and he's back already—
Rayyan enveloped Tasleem in a warm hug, his lips grazing the tender skin of her neck. Her eyes fluttered shut, her breath hitching in her throat. "Why do you pout?," he asked, his breath caressing her ear. Tasleem shook her head, "I'm not pouting." her voice trembling as she stepped away. "Welcome back," she said, the words barely above a whisper.
Rayyan's gaze swept the table, his eyes lingering on the spread. "Have you had dinner?" he asked. Tasleem shook her head, her silence eloquent. Rayyan nodded. "I'll get changed, and we can dine together." Tasleem nodded, her eyes fixed on the table.
With a gentle smile, Rayyan turned and ascended the stairs, leaving Tasleem alone in the dining room.
After Rayyan changed into a comfortable outfit he walked downstairs and they enjoyed a peaceful dinner together. Afterward, Tasleem cleared the table and packed the leftovers, then headed upstairs to her room for a bath.
After Tasleem's steaming bath, she slipped into a bathrobe and padded barefoot out of the bathroom. As she entered the dimly lit hallway, a fleeting shadow caught her eye. Before she could process the sight, Rayyan materialized before her, his features stark in the dim light.
He leaned against the doorframe, his unbuttoned shirt hanging loose, revealing the contours of his muscular chest. Tasleem was caught off guard and stood frozen in front of him as he stared at her with his languid, deep eyes. Her heart skipped a beat in that split second.
She stood barefoot, staring at him blankly.
Both of them were just inches apart, and Rayyan peered closely at her petite face. He could see the fine details of her skin, every pore and curve etched in exquisite clarity.
Tasleem's attention was suddenly distracted from Rayyan's gaze by the chill of the floor seeping up from her bare feet, making her stand on tiptoes in an attempt to escape the cold. Rayyan's eyes narrowed slightly as he locked his gaze on her lips, and he detected a flicker of nervousness that she couldn't quite conceal.
Tasleem grew more uneasy and finally spoke up, "Why...why are you here?" She asked, trying to even her voice.
—This was his wife's room. Isn't it normal for him to come to her room?—
She felt stupid after asking the question, and she scolded herself silently.
He silently moved close to her without answering her question. His handsome features looked darker than usual because of the dim light in the room.
Rayyan's hands pressed against the wall on either side of Tasleem's head, gently pinning her in place. Before she could react, his lips brushed against hers. His breath carried the refreshing scent of fresh mint, and coupled with the kiss, it completely overwhelmed Tasleem's senses.
