AUTHOR'S POV

After some time, Maya came in. Going inside their room, she closed the door behind her.

She looked around, not seeing Ekansh. Maybe he went to the study room, she thought, sitting on the bed. She sighed, sitting quietly. After some time, someone knocked on the door. She got up and saw a maid who gave her the washed clothes of Ekansh. She took them and closed the door.

Her leg tripped, and all the clothes fell on the floor. Maya cursed herself while picking up the clothes. She decided to fold them again and place them on the bed.

She started folding them, noticing he still had some of his old clothes. She folded all the clothes and went to the closet, putting them inside and hanging some of his shirts neatly. Her eyes fell on the little sweater that was kept in between his clothes.

She set aside the clothes. Her eyes widened as she saw it along with the little note.

She gasped, taking it out. He had kept it with him, she thought, caressing it.

She smiled through tears as she saw the note. Caressing the fabric, she hugged it to herself.

She bit her lip, controlling her sobs as she imagined his pain. Her hands trembled as she placed it back where it was.

She unpacked her bag, putting her things inside the wardrobe. She looked at the ultrasound pictures of the baby and kept them safely in the drawer. It was the last memory she had.

Going to the room, she lay down on the bed, closing her eyes. She wiped her tears and fell asleep like that.

_______________

"I will try to talk to her and inform you."

Ekansh cut the call and set his phone down after talking to the psychiatrist.

After yesterday, he knew Maya's mental health was definitely not good. He needed to do something about that. He needed to talk to her.

He continued his work until it was time for dinner.

He got up and went to his room. Seeing her asleep, he sat beside her, waking her up. He saw the tear stains on her face and sighed, knowing she had cried. He shook her lightly, waking her up.

"Get up, let's have dinner," he said as she opened her eyes, blinking to clear the sleep away.

She got up and sat beside him, looking at the time.

"Come on... let's go," he said.

"Where?"

"For dinner."

She shook her head. "I am not hungry."

"At least eat with me. I will ask someone to send the food here."

She nodded and went to the washroom to wash her face while he went downstairs to ask a maid to send the food upstairs. He saw his parents walking in the garden, talking with each other. Making sure they had eaten, he went to his room.

After dinner, Ekansh was sitting on the bed, checking his emails. Maya came in with the extra blanket. Placing it on the bed, she sat on her side, arranging all the pillows like yesterday.

He stared at her, making her feel confused.

She ignored his gaze and sat silently.

"About yesterday's nightmare, are you getting these dreams quite often?" he asked.
