AUTHOR POV
Ekansh looked up as Maya gave him the coffee and turned to go, but he stopped her.
Maya turned to him, who was checking some files.
"Come sit, I have to talk to you."
She nodded, sitting beside him.
"You will be working from tomorrow," he said.
Maya looked at him and lowered her eyes, nodding. He took a sip of the coffee, opening his laptop.
Maya sighed, looking at him. "Should I shift to the servant quarters then?" she asked.
Ekansh frowned. "What?"
He shook his head. "Do you know baking?"
"Huh?"
He turned to her. "Do you know how to bake?"
She shook her head. He nodded. "Do you want to learn?"
She smiled a little, nodding.
"I am buying a cafe. You will work there. First, I will arrange for someone to teach you."
"Okay."
She said a little excited. She loved to cook and wanted to learn baking for a few days now; Ekansh himself telling her this made her much happier.
She smiled at him as he continued to do his work.
"And we will go to the park early in the morning from tomorrow."
"Why?"
"We will get fresh air, and it's good for health too. Get up early."
Maya nodded. She gulped, hearing about health, remembering her periods. She hoped he did not remember it, but her breath quickened as the next moment he asked her about the medicines.
"Your medicines must be over by now, right? What about your periods?"
She looked at him without replying. Ekansh sighed, looking at her, knowing she had skipped her tablets by the look on her face.
"You skipped your medicines, didn't you?" he asked sternly.
"No."
He glared at her, knowing she was lying.
"Tell the truth."
"I... I forgot to take a few."
"Bring the box," he said.
Maya pouted, getting up and bringing the box.
He took it from her and checked the tablets. He sighed, seeing only four tablets remaining. He thought she hadn't taken any.
Checking the others too, he closed the box, keeping it aside.
"Why didn't you take it?"
"I forgot."
"Is it true?"
She nodded.
He held her hand, looking at her. "You know, right, you shouldn't skip them? Then why did you? Aren't you concerned about your health?"
He asked softly, caressing her hand, knowing she was on the verge of crying. After her session with the doctor, he had gotten to know that she had become very soft compared to before and was afraid of shouts and yelling.
"I know... I... I just forgot," she said, taking a breath to calm herself down.
He nodded. "It's okay... but don't repeat it."
