Ekansh's POV

I jerked awake, gasping for breath, trying to process what's happening. Blinking my eyes to get rid of the tears, I realized it was just a bad dream and exhaled.

I looked down at Maya, who was still in my arms... My hands automatically tightened around her, hugging her more tightly with my shivering hands. My heart thudded against my chest in fear and pain, remembering that dream.

I closed my eyes, wiping the tears. I couldn't even imagine it becoming a reality. Why did I have such a dream? All of a sudden.

Maya stirred in my arms slightly, and I loosened my grip, realizing I was holding her too tightly.

She didn't wake up, luckily.

I kept staring at her, trying to stop crying, but the tears wouldn't stop.

What will I do if it becomes reality? No... It can't.

I calmed down and carefully shifted her to the bed, making sure not to wake her up. Getting up from bed, I went to the washroom to freshen up and clear my mind too.

Maya's pov

"Maya, why are you not eating? Is it not good?" Maa asked from the kitchen, seeing me fidgeting with my food and not eating. My whole attention was on Ekansh; that's why I couldn't focus on dinner.

"No, it's good. I am eating," I said, taking a spoonful of rice and chewing it, trying to finish it faster.

Everyone had already had dinner; I was the last one eating. I was not hungry... And I didn't want to eat with Arohi. My eyes kept drifting to Ekansh, who was talking with Arohi, strolling in the garden. Looking at them together made me so uneasy.

Is it wrong to feel this way? But why wrong? He is my husband... I will, of course, be jealous if I see him with other girls.

Forcefully, I gulped down another bite, convincing myself to finish the food.

I smiled, remembering what happened in the evening. I don't know why, but I feel like he is taking extra care after I woke up. What happened suddenly? He was with me every minute since I woke up.

Maybe he realized I was upset.

He used to take care of me like this before, whenever I was upset or sad.

I sighed, realizing I was lost in thought, and shook my head, finishing eating and going to the kitchen to wash my plate and put it in its place.

I glanced at the garden once but didn't see them. Where are they? Should I go to sleep? Will he come now or be late? I sighed, not finding him, and turned to go to the room.

"Oww," I exclaimed as I collided with someone. I rubbed my arm and stiffened as I saw it was Arohi. She hissed as her water bottle fell on her leg and looked at me, stilling in place.

She had the same reaction as me.

I bent down and picked up the bottle, handing it to her.

"Sorry," I whispered.

"For?" she asked, looking at me.

I gulped, not looking at her.

"I did not see you coming," I said.

She nodded. "I am sorry too." She walked away, and I headed to the stairs towards my room.

Why does it feel like I have snatched someone else's man? He is my husband.
