Maya's POV

I stepped out the car. My hand fisting my duppata trying to control the shivering. Ekansh held my hand, I turned to him looking at him. He is the only support for me now.

"Let's go."

I nodded though I wanted to run away. I was scared of how maa and papa will react seeing me. I can't see them hating me, but I know I have to face it.

I gulped down as we walked ahead. I held his hand stopping him. "Hm.. I think, i..it's not a good idea."

I tried to convince him to go back.

Ekansh shook his head. "Its ok. Come."

I sighed in fear as he lead me towards the mansion.

I stared at the balcony where our room was, remembering the last time when I glanced it at in last hope before leaving from there. This way where I left leaving behind my tears. The main door where I stood begging for forgiveness, which was closed to me forever.

My legs and hands felt cold as I once again stood there again, but this time not as a daughter-in-law of this house, not a daughter also. But whom this house never wants to face. Whom they despise.

I looked at the house with tears. My home. But not anymore.

My legs shivered as he looked at me to step inside.

First time I stepped into this house with purpose this time too... I am stepping with a purpose, a purpose to win over the hearts of the people inside and to seek their forgiveness by repenting for my actions.

We stepped in together,My hand was still clutched by Ekansh. Tear fell down my eyes as I saw papa. He saw us and stopped. He looked at Ekansh and went away.

I looked at Ekansh. He didn't say anything. "You go to room... I will come in few minutes."

He said leaving my hand. "Where are you going?" I asked. I didn't want to be alone.

"I will go and talk to maa. You go."

I nodded as he went towards his parent's room.

I ascended the stairs looking around the house. Some things have changed. Including the family photo, I was not there in the picture. I smiled sadly at the picture and went towards our room. The flashes of past started to run in my mind.

I fisted my duppata as I stood before the door. I could see myself sitting down leaning against the door drenched in tears sobbing my hand hitting on the door weakly calling out for Ekansh and passing out.

"Excuse me."

Someone called out making me flinch. I turned to find a maid standing there. She forwarded my bag. I thanked her taking it from her and she went. I opened the door stepping in.

My eyes watered as I looked at the room,Nothing had changed except my things. Not even a small thing of my was there. The room was clean and everything at it's place untouched.

I looked at the bed. I smiled as I saw me and Ekansh there, playfully laughing teasing tickling each other. Our happy moments. Suddenly all dissapeared and I was sitting on the edge of bed clutching my knees to my chest crying alone and caressing my belly talking to my child that everything will be ok.

I looked at myself tears falling out of my eyes. My voice was stuck in my throat.

Nothing became ok and my child isn't here anymore.

Do I even have any right to mourn over death of my baby? Isn't it my fault? I killed them.

I walked inside the closet and kept my bag down. I looked ahead, I was smiling looking beautiful in red saree. The joy was dancing on my face as I was caressing the little card and sweater. I kept it inside the wardrobe for Ekansh, beaming in joy.

I looked at her in pity. I blinked my eyes as she vanished. I wiped my tears and went there opening it but found it all empty, nothing was there. I closed it back.

I walked out, the room was entirely empty. No stuffs of his or mine was there.

I turned and stood stiff as I saw myself again sitting in the corner. My head leaned back on the wall and eyes closed looking all broken.

AUTHOR

Ekansh who entered inside looked at her confused who was looking at the corner as something was there.

"What happened?" She flinched getting scared. That image vanished. She looked at Ekansh who came inside.

He sighed looked at his room, He had never entered inside after that day. At every corner there were memories of them which turned bitter for him.

"What were you looking at?" He asked.

She shook her head. "Nothing."

He nodded and both stood silent looking around untill servents came with all his stuffs which were in another room. He let them inside asking them keep all things on bed, they did as he said and left the room closing the door behind.

Ekansh picked his stuff going to the closet started to arrange them. "There are some of your stuffs too... old ones. You can arrange them." He said.

Maya looked at the bags placed on the bed. She sat down on the bed and opened a bag, The cute little stuffs she had brought were there along with some of her jewellery. She smiled caressing them remembering how she would buy everything that she found cute and fill the room. Everywhere these things would be there.

Ekansh looked at the little sweater between his clothes. He kissed it and kept it hidden so she doesn't see it.

Ekansh came out of the closet and saw her who was caressing and seeing everything carefully.

"Don't go out for today. I will send the food through maids."

Maya nodded.

"You need anything now?" He asked.

She shook her head. "Call me if you need something." He said and went out of the room.

Maya looked at her old clothes, Caressing them. Her sarees and salwar suits. She picked up a saree which was Ekansh's favourite. She didn't had courage to wear them again.

She arranged all her clothes and other things in it's place. The empty room again got filled but there was void of their pictures which used to fill the wall.

She didn't know if they were still there or he discarded them. Maya picked up her bag and took out the photo frame of them she had with her and placed it on the nightstand beside the bed.

She looked at her nuptial chain which was inside the box. Smiling at it sadly she kept in inside the drawer.

I don't have right to wear it again.
