He held her hand, intertwining their fingers.

"Try to remember what happened exactly."

She nodded, squeezing his hand. She felt so ashamed just remembering all that.

Her eyes widened when she remembered that person. She looked at Ekansh.

"There was a person. He was the one who gave me money to marry you."

Ekansh looked at her as she continued.

"At first, I hadn't met him. But one time, Vicky took me to him."

"What is his name?"

Maya shook her head.

"I don't know anything. Not even his name. After that, I- I just saw him o.. once again and never." She said, trying not to panic again.

He nodded. "Can you recognize him if you see him again?"

"Yes."

He frowned, seeing her sweating a little.

"What happened?"

Maya raised her head, staring at him.

"After we got separated, he kidnapped me," she said.

His eyes widened as he listened to her.

"H.. he was angry t-that I failed to get the information he needed and left me to his men to r..ape me."

He hugged her tightly, closing his eyes.

"One of the.. them. He was kind and helped me escape from there."

Maya said and wiped her tears while Ekansh caressed her back, calming her.

"I think the man that came yesterday is sent by him only."

She said, remembering the words he said to her.

Ekansh nodded, hugging her tight. He felt her wiping her tears and closed his eyes, feeling the tears in his eyes.

He thought he was the one who suffered because of her betrayal, but her suffering was greater than his.

"I am sorry."

He whispered, his heart clenching painfully, thinking she wouldn't have faced all that if he hadn't left her on the streets.

Maya wrapped her hands around him, knowing she was now safe with him.

"Don't think about that anymore." He ran his hand through her hair.

He wiped his tears and came out of the hug.

"Tomorrow, we will go for a morning walk. Okay?"

She nodded her head.

He looked at the TV, which was still on.

"You want to watch more or—"

"No. Let's sleep."

"Okay."

He turned off the TV, setting the remote aside, and lay down, spreading his arms for her to lie down.

Maya looked at his open arms and lay down, resting her head on his arm close to his chest.

She adjusted the blanket over them as he wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer and tucking her hair behind her ear.

"I am sorry." He whispered, making her frown.

"Why?"

"Nothing." He said and kissed her forehead.
