AUTHOR POV

Maya hit her fist on his hand, trying to take his hand away from her mouth. She sobbed, her tears wetting her face.

She tried to move her legs, but he had trapped her.

She turned her head, and her eyes caught the small wooden piece. She looked at him, who was busy opening his pants, and grabbed the sharp piece, stabbing it in his eye.

He left her screaming, holding his eye.

Maya stabbed him again with all her might and screamed Ekansh's name, sobbing loudly, trying to get up.

______________

Ekansh looked around the empty room, searching for her.

She might be in the garden, he thought, and went toward the balcony to look at the garden but stopped on his way, hearing the scream.

He got chills as he heard her scream. He immediately ran out of the room, running toward the garden.

Adithya, who heard the scream, immediately ran toward the storeroom from where he heard it.

His eyes widened, seeing what was happening inside.

"Maya!"

He shouted, running toward her and kicking that man away from her, helping her to get up.

Adithya kicked him down again as he tried to get up, punching him roughly.

He pushed him and threw the rod at Adithya while running out.

Ekansh ran inside, colliding with the man who ran out.

"Catch him!" Adithya shouted, holding his arm.

Ekansh ran behind him, trying to catch him. He gripped his shirt, about to catch him, but the man took out a knife and stabbed his arm.

Ekansh hissed, kicking him down and gripping his neck. He tried to push him away and stabbed him again, pushing him away, and ran off.

Adithya turned, looking at Maya, who was hugging her knees to her clothes, shivering and sobbing silently.

He stepped toward her to comfort her but stopped.

He kneeled down a little away from her, knowing she was scared.

"You are safe now... it's okay." He whispered, wiping her tears.

She shivered more, clenching her hands on her clothes.

"Maya." Ekansh called out, running to her.

"Ansh." She sobbed loudly, holding him tight as he hugged her, kneeling down.

She hiccuped, crying nonstop, her shivering hand fisting his shirt tightly, clinging to him.

He picked her up, walking inside the home. Adithya quickly alerted the security to find that man. Ekansh's parents had also woken up, hearing the noise.

Their eyes widened as they saw Ekansh carrying Maya inside.

He sat down on the couch with her, trying to calm her down as she was panicking.

"Maya, look at me. Nothing happened." He held her face, trying to make her look at him, but her eyes were closed, crying continuously.

"Ekansh, what happened!?" His father asked, getting tense.

He looked at his parents, who were looking at them, scared.

"Someone was here... he—"

He stopped, unable to speak, and hugged her tightly, rubbing her back, whispering in her ear.
