Bakugou didn't wait for you to catch your breath. His grip was iron as he hauled you to your feet, ignoring the protest of your trembling legs.

"Get your shit together. We're going now," he barked, voice sharp and unforgiving, but underneath it all, raw urgency bled through.

You barely registered the world around you as he practically dragged you out of the mission zone. The adrenaline and fear tangled in your chest, matching the wild thumping of your heart as your body protested the effort. His firm hold kept you grounded, he was your anchor as the chaos swirled inside you.

"Get a fucking move on!" Bakugou snapped, ignoring the stares of the stunned evac team as you both barreled out of the building and into the night.

You barely had time to process when you found yourself thrown into the passenger seat of a blacked-out vehicle, Bakugou sliding into the driver's seat like a man possessed. The engine roared to life, and you were swallowed by the city blur as he floored it, racing toward the lab.

The world around you cracked and splintered with every mile, your head pounding, visions of Shigaraki flickering at the edges of your vision. You squeezed your eyes shut, trying to block him out, but the voice echoed, sharp and relentless.

You're unraveling.

Your right leg was bouncing up and down so severe that you didn't even realize you were doing it until Bakugou glanced over and placed a firm hand on your left leg. Your wild eyes snapped to him, seeing the concerned look on his face.

Then you turn back and proceeded to close your eyes again, feeling them burn and ache from everything. From the lights, the mission, the hallucinations, from crying, from the drugs.

Bakugou's voice cut through the haze. "Y/N! Keep your eyes open, dammit!"

You forced your lids open just as the vehicle screeched to a halt. You were staring up at the cold, sterile facade of the lab, the place you both feared and depended on. Your chest tightened as Bakugou yanked the door open and practically carried you inside.

The hallways were too bright, too clean. The smell of antiseptic clawed at your throat, mixing with the bitter taste of fear. Scientists and doctors spotted you immediately, but Bakugou didn't hesitate. He slammed his fist down on the nearest table, making a group of researchers jump.

"You—Get me the Doctor. Now." His voice was sharp, commanding, brooking no argument.

A young doctor nodded, already pulling up a comms device, her face pale but professional. "Right away, Mr. Bakugou."

You barely heard the chatter. Your vision swam, and the buzzing in your skull grew louder, Shigaraki's laugh ringing clear as a bell. You would see his silhouette every once in a while, snapping out of the corner of your eye but would disappear when you would turn your head. You've officially gone crazy.

You gripped Bakugou's arm tightly, your nails digging in. "I can't... I can't—"

He looked down, eyes fierce but softening for a moment. "I'm here. You're not alone."

Minutes later, the same Doctor from those weeks ago rushed into the room, her expression grim as she took in your state. "We've been monitoring the side effects closely. Your neural pathways are deteriorating faster than expected. The fusion is unstable."

Bakugou's glare could have burned through steel. "Fix it. Whatever it takes."

She hesitated, biting her lip. "We can attempt an emergency procedure to isolate the decay quirk but it's risky. There's a chance it could kill the lava quirk or worse..."
