The harsh heat of summer had soon drifted and replaced by the breeze of fall. The small week you two shared only consisted of remaining inside your home, most of the time in bed eating junk food and watching movies. Other times consisted of just sex. Then the rest of the time included fixing certain things around the house.
The shared bond of being together alone and unbothered was something neither of you thought you two needed. Bakugou was never the one to take breaks or vacations, he always picked up the late night calls and always picked up the extra shifts.
Even though deep in his heart he would regret leaving you at home, you knew he loved work and he was a big workaholic. You still loved him, you still cooked him meals to take to work and meals to come home to. You would have the shower running 5 minutes before he got home so he can relax in a hot shower.
You would have his clothes folded on the bathroom counter, waiting for him when he was ready to leave the pure bliss of scorching hot water on his aching muscles. And after every shower, you would go over his cuts and bruises, taking extra care to make sure they were clean and bandaged.
It was a routine, it was familiar and it was yours.
Once fall had slipped through, you decided to take the next steps to find something that would make you happy. You enjoyed staying at home but after much thought, and after completing the house, you decided on a job. A simple one at that.
You decided to work at a elementary school nearby, one that focused on children who got their quirks early and needed to learn to adjust, to take care of them, and properly use them in a way that wouldn't destroy their parents homes.
It wasn't much but the more you attended everyday, the more you started to fall in love with not only the job but the small children that would run in the room to greet you with huge smiles on their faces. Bakugou was nervous was first, especially since you haven't even bothered to use your quirk in the slightest since what happened with Shigaraki.
But one day when he left work early to have lunch with you at your job, he peaked in the room and saw you manipulating the air around them, the papers flying in circles high up towards the ceiling as the children stared in awe.
Bakugou stood there longer than he meant to.
He had come to surprise you, half expecting you to be sitting behind a desk reading to toddlers, or quietly supervising arts and crafts. Something simple. Something safe. Something so... normal that he could breathe easy for once.
Instead, he found you in the center of the classroom, eyes bright, smile soft but focused, guiding a dozen little hands through the uncontrolled chaos of childhood quirks.
You lifted your palm gently, adjusting your fingers with a precise, familiar motion. A soft gust, the air shimmering lightly with your influence. The abandoned coloring sheets scattered across the room, lifted into graceful spirals. The children squealed with excitement, arms stretched upward in awe as the sheets floated above them like a swirling paper cyclone.
"Eyes on your paper, not on your quirk!" you teased, voice light and confident.
With a playful twist of your wrist, the cyclone collapsed downward. The pages descended perfectly, landing squarely in front of each child's desk. The room erupted in applause. It was a small applause, high-pitched and messy, but it made something inside Bakugou's chest twist and ache.
Because you looked... happy. Not haunted by what had been forced into your body. Not flinching at the possibility of destruction. Not training in secret or gripping at your own wrists like they might crumble something if you dared to move wrong.
