♡Day 14♡

TODAY'S THE DAY! ♡♡♡♡♡

-John's POV-

Today's the day! The day I finally come home from this facility. I packed up all my belongings and sighed happily. I'm just hoping that I don't come back to this place ever again! I feel like I'm finally back on track with being sober as promised. Two months felt so long, but it was worth a stay to get myself together. Avery waited another minute for me to pack and guided me back to the front, room key in hand. "It was a pleasure having you around, Mr. Deacon. We're so proud of you. We'll miss you, but don't worry. We hope your journey goes forward as planned.", She said to me. "I appreciate you having me here. It was a great start to my recovery.", I replied. I took one more glance and went outside where apparently Roger was there in the car waiting.

-Roger's POV-

I saw him heading out and walking towards the vehicle. "Hey there, great to see you!", I greeted. "It sure is.", He got in and buckled up, placing his back underneath the seat, with that, I drove away from the facility.

John and I kept an incredible conversation about his stay for the next few minutes on our way back home, he talked about how he had a flamboyant fellow neighbor named Jacob and his struggles, how he went to these motivational meetings whenever they were held, and a pool and billiards. He seemed to enjoy a temporary home away from home, with reflection and deciding to become sober.

"John, we highly appreciate you for coming to that decision in your life. You're very brave for it, we're proud of you." I said, and I meant it. Overcoming such a struggling addiction can be difficult for few, I'm glad John is one of the many that overcame theirs. "Thank you, Rog.", he replied shyly, "I kinda hate to ask this, but how are things with you and Brian?"

I didn't want to answer, but I had to be honest. "We're currently on no speaking terms, we had a huge argument ever since our day at the spa. He got furious at me, saying that I kept hurting his heart over and over, so he put in no speaking terms until said so." I explain trying not to cry. I could tell he was concerned because I felt his hand on my shoulder.

"I understand you're going through a very rough moment, but rest assured he will be able to break the silence soon.", he said. "I appreciate that, but let's focus on your accomplishments first.", I chuckled, "because surprise surprise, we're already here." I parked the car exactly where Freddie told me to and got out. "Come on, there's something waiting for you.", I replied.

John hesitantly got out and I instructed him to close, or else I would've closed them for him. He did so and I carefully guided him in the living room. "Open your eyes!", I exclaimed at him excitingly. When he opened his eyes, the other two popped up and he heard, "Surprise! Welcome Home! Congratulations!"

"What's all this?", John asked peering around. "It's a celebration for you, we're glad you're home!", Brian replied. "Yeah, what Brian said!", I echoed, received a mean glare from Bri.

"What do you mean congra-" John slowly took another look around to see how nicely decorated the living room was. "Wow you guys, what's really all this for?", he chuckled

“Your sobriety, babe.” Freddie said with a wide grin, hugging his boyfriend.

"Oh....aw you guys. You shouldn't have.", John blushed. "We all know you're doingng your very best, and we're all very proud of you.", I chimed in.

“We have mock tails, too!” Brian said excitedly, “just as good as the real ones.”

"Sounds great, thanks you guys!", John beamed. "You're absolutely welcome baby." Freddie hummed. I watched as he kissed John's lips lovingly. To make myself not look so jealous, I spoke up saying, "How bout we all get one of these mock tails a-and propose a toast."

"Good idea, be a dear and get me and John those Pina coladas.", Fred replied. "Sure thing!", I simply said. I went over to the table and handed two of the Pina coladas he asked for, while I grabbed one of the strawberry daiquiris. I'm not sure what Brian grabbed, but I wasn't too worried since he kept giving angry glares.

"I'd like to propose a toast. To John.", Freddie started raising his glass. "Here’s to new beginnings, to strength in every step, and to choosing a better path—one day at a time. We’re proud of you, Deaky.  Don't you worry, baby boy, we’ve got your back. Cheers!"

With that all our glasses clinked and we supped. "Come with me, darling.", Freddie took his boyfriend over to the couch, and since Brian refused to even look at me, he went back in the kitchen and I went back outside.

-John's POV-

"I'm amazed that you threw this together for me, Fred.", I chuckled softly. “You deserve it, John. You’re such an essential part of this band.” Freddie said softly, “we care about you.” He sat me down  and wrapped his arm around me, then pressed a gentle kiss to my forehead. “I’m so proud of you, sweetie.” "Thanks." I simply said, taking another sip of my drink. "You sure know how to make these." "Of course, babe. I don't think I told you but I used to bartend years ago, but since I hated that reek of alcohol, I quit. But hey, that doesn't mean I'll stop making you mock tails.", he explains, then pinched my cheek.

"I'll be fine with these every other occasion. I promise that I'll no longer bring in or even speak of alcohol ever again!", I chanted, then it occurred. As I took another guzzle, I looked down at how flat I still look. I really hope I can gain weight without any problems...even better, without my band mates knowing.

Freddie grinned as he mysteriously plopped a cherry in my drink. “Sobriety looks good on you, John. You look so healthy.”

In what way, Freddie?!?!

"You really think so? Some people don't even like sobriety.", I shrugged.
“I think you look great. You scared me for a while, there..” he said softly as he kissed my lips lovingly. “But…. Now? I’m so proud.”

"What about it that makes you seem proud?", I asked. “Because you overcame something that was really hard.” he said warmly, “and I’m so damn proud of you, John. I’ve seen a lot lose their fight…”

"Really? That must've been hard to see." I uttered taking a few more sips “That is the point-“ Freddie held my hand, “you’ve overcame so much…” "It was hard but- shit, you know what, I had to put the bottle down at some point.", I softly replied. Then a flashback occured, which gave me a reason to stop drinking.

"One of the reasons I stopped is because this psychic I saw a year back told me about what she saw in my future, it absolutely gutted to know about the dangerous path I would've gone on.... Madame Marveline, that was her name.", I explained. “Yeah..?” Freddie said as he watched me closely, “I’m… I'm so glad you’re still with us, John. Let’s watch something on TV, yeah?”

"I could, but I feel like I could use some rest.", I replied. "No worries, how bout you go to our room and unpack. Hopefully you'll stay up for another surprise." Freddie winked at me and kissed my lips. "Oh? Another surprise?", I inquired. "You'll see, you're gonna have to hand it over to me later tonight.", he said in a flirty tone.

Hand what over? I'm so confused. And concerned. What does Freddie have up his sleeves now?

"I'm gonna go unpack then. This was great." I awkwardly replied and got up. I paced my way into the bedroom and shut the door behind. I'm trying to puzzle it all together before I give up, which I'll end up doing anyways.

What am I supposed to hand over Freddie tonight?
