-Roger's POV-
"Hi baby, welcome home.", my curly-haired partner greeted me. Oh, I'm back home? I wasn't aware this was the arrangement-didn't he prefer I stay away? I felt a gentle kiss placed on my forehead. "It's wonderful to see you awake after your slumber. I'm genuinely pleased, as you rested so soundly, like a peaceful little angel.", he hummed. Did he bring me home for some reason? Whatever the case may be, he sure is much calmer now.
"Brian, what's the reason why I'm home? I thought you wanted me out for a week.", I inquired, still foggy in the mind from sleeping. "I initially thought it would be best for you to be away for about two weeks, but I didn't realize how lonely I would feel without you. I truly appreciate your understanding while I spoke with my parents about our relationship, and they fully support us now. Do you remember that wonderful day?"
Honestly, no, I don't remember much about it because I was still at home crying all alone like a baby from when he left me to stay with his parents. "I think so.", I sheepishly replied. I rose slowly and yawned again. "Brian, I sincerely apologize for the disagreements we've had recently. I believe it's important for us to communicate calmly rather than raise our voices. Moving forward, if you seek my opinion, I will make a concerted effort to understand your perspective better."
"Aww, babe. I really appreciate your apology, and it's accepted. I'm really glad you're going to try seeing things in my point of view as well." Brian replied. He pulled on my arms, getting me to come closer to him, but I fell back on the couch. "Noooooo, I just wanna sleep more.", I slightly whine.
"I understand you might be tired, but your stomach is empty, and I think it would be a good idea to use the loo. I can prepare something for you to eat while you take care of that. It would be nice to get up and we could do something together, Roger.", Bri cooed. I didn't know exactly what was happening, but I accepted. "Oh alright, be glad I'm letting you do this.", I replied, even though I honestly in my opinion didn't deserve to be back home.
It was moments after I ate breakfast that I was in bed cuddling with him. Yes of course I missed his warmth but it's making me tired again, by then he was kissing my face over and over. "You're the prettiest baby ever, you know? Oh how I missed having you around.", he gushed
Oh how he's so lovesick. Poor thing.
"I was only allowed to stay for like a few hours over there.", I said sarcastically. "Baby, I didn't mean to kick you out.", he hummed slightly raising up. "I know I know. Brimi, I was just sarcastic that's all. I'm sorry I frightened you.", I replied.
He then gave me a certain yet familiar, there's no way he was gonna ask about...
that...
"So hun, now that you're back home...we haven't...y'know..."
"I have a feeling I know what you're about to ask. You don't need to ask if you want to have intercourse.. I'm here for it if you are. Consent is key you know.", I said. " I agree, sweetheart. Maybe when the timing is right, we'll make love. For now, let's just enjoy each other's company.", Bri stated and brought me closer, "I'm just glad you're back in my arms, back right where you actually belong." "I know how much you've missed me.", I drowsily yawned. "Tell you what hun, how bout after another napping session, we can go take a stroll in the park or have a picnic there too if you'd like.", he suggested, stroking my blonde locks. "Okay, either one is fine with me." I hummed, I was about to lay down and get comfortable until for some reason, the phone in the guest bedroom started ringing. Who could it be at this hour? "I'll go get that", Brian emerged from the bed and went into the other room. I of course decided to eavsdrop, shutting the door and placing my ear against it.
"Hello?...oh hello there, good morning, how are you, Mrs. Taylor?...that's good....oh is that so? Really, they told you? Wow, I'm really amazed at that...thank you so much. Of course he is, would you like for me to get him? Sure, one second..."
My mum called? About what though I wonder? I sprinted back in bed just so that Bri could open the door properly, he came back in with a small grin on his face. "Hey babe, your mum is on the telephone, she would like to speak with you at once!", he informed me with some excitement in his tone. For context, my mum rarely ever gives me a call nowadays, but today must be different. I got back out of the bed and went into the other room, my heart was skipping a couple of beats. I picked up the phone nervously and greeted, "Hello, mum."
"Hello Roger, mum here. I just called to say how proud I am of you. Ruth had told me how she accepted you and Brian's relationship, she ranted to me the other day about how lovely you two are together. I'm hoping I get an invite to a future wedding hopefully!"
Wedding? Relationship? My heart felt like it stopped, did Brian's mum Ruth just happen to tell my mum I was gay without me properly telling her? I honestly will not blame her though. I choked back the oncoming tears and continued the conversation in a casual fashion.
"Y-yeah, I'm glad she told you. But yes, I'm committed to him. I'm sorry that I didn't get to come out to you properly, but I also hope you understand it.", I replied. "I understand, you don't need to apologize, dear. I fully accept you, by the way, I happened to tell your father when he stopped one day. He was confused at first but he's accepting of it too. You definitely deserve it. Love you my son." I heard her gentle voice say. "I love you too, mum." I replied. "I'll have to go for now, but I'll call you at a later time, okay? Talk to you soon.", I heard her hang up and of course I hung up as well.
I went back in the bedroom, tears returning to my eyes. "Oh there you are, hun. So it's said, both sets of parents fully accept us. Isn't that great?!", Bri said. "Yeah, th-that's great.", I uttered sadly. "Baby, you don't seem too excited. Are you alright?", he asked, noticing how watery my eyes were. "Not really. I feel bad for not coming out to them properly. I just wish-" My lips began quivering.
"What? You wish what, baby?", Brian asked.
"I just wish I could've told them sooner about us. My father used to think so traditional, but this came as a shock to me that he supports us now.", I responded. "Well, aren't you glad now?", Bri asked.
"No- I mean, I am-I mean....fuck!"
I found myself in tears quite suddenly. I hadn't realized just how much of an emotional toll it would take on me. I felt myself surrounded by my partner's warmth, and I sobbed hard in his chest. "Sweetheart, please don’t worry. Our parents are supporting us, and I’m right here for you, so there’s no need to cry.", he cooed stroking my hair softly, "it's gonna be okay after while..." He attempted to shush me as much as possible until my crying eventually stopped.
"I'm sorry I'm such a crybaby.", I said looking up at him. "Rog, no you're not a crybaby, your emotions are valid. You have every right to feel what you're feeling, and I love you for that.", he argued wiping the few stray tears from my face. "I'm glad you see it that way.", I sniffled. "Don't worry, how bout we go out after a long nap?", Bri suggested, I nodded and got in the bed. "You'll be okay after while, sweet baby. I promise.", I heard Brian whisper to me as I drifted to another snooze.
I'm just glad he let me back in the house....and back in his heart
