"Let's go Tigers!"
Steve holds the door for Angie, leading her into school. He places their tickets on the table. The woman scans them over briefly before excusing them.
"Are you excited for tonight?" Angie mutters softly, allowing Steve to lead her through the crowd.
"Yeah, I am."
She softly squeezes his hand, knowing it could be tough if the team wins a championship immediately following his graduation.
He smiles softly at her, returning the squeeze, "Thanks, Ange."
She simply smiles in return.
The principal begins his announcements as they find their seats next to the band, "Everyone now, please rise for our national anthem."
Angie places her jacket across the seat, stumbling slightly. She bumps into Steve's side and mumbles an apology.
Steve only smiles as the principal continues.
"Singing for us tonight, we have a very special guest. All the way from Nashville, our very own Tammy Thompson!"
They immediately turn to each other in shock, remembering the conversation they had in the mall bathroom. Steve's mouth hangs agape as Angie sniffles down a snicker.
The crowd dies down as she takes a deep breath and begins singing.
Steve turns to Robin, whispering, "Told you." He gestures, "Muppet."
Ange giggles softly, patting a warning on Steve's chest.
"Okay," Robin admits, "she does sound like a Muppet."
Vicky intervenes, drawing Robin's attention from the two.
As the anthem comes to an end, the crowd takes their seats. Angie sighs, "I really do hope Lucas gets some playing time this game."
"I hate watching him just sit on the bench." Steve admits.
"Yeah," Angie leans over, slipping her hand around his bicep, "Either way, I'm sure he appreciates us coming."
Steve grins, clapping as the team scores a basket, "That's why we do it."
"Yeah," Angie can't help but smile, appreciating the moment, "that's why we do it."
As her eyes return to the game, a Hawkins player goes up for a layup and is fouled hard by the opposing post. The player is slow to get back up.
"Oh, no." She mumbles softly, placing a hand over her mouth.
The other team members surround him, pulling him up from the floor. They practically drag him back to the bench.
The coach turns, searching for a sub. His eyes land on Lucas, "Sinclair, you're in."
His expression becomes puzzled, "Huh?"
His coach becomes frustrated, "You're in." He shouts, "Son, let's go!"
Lucas' expression shifts to excitement and determination as he rips his warmup from his body and runs onto the court.
Steve spots it first, "Look," he points, "They're putting Lucas in."
"What?" Angie searches for the other end of Steve's pointing.
"Oh my gosh." She mumbles, smiling widely, "Go, Lucas!" She yells, bursting into cheers. She can even spot a small grin on Lucas' face as she does so.
The game is now down to twenty seconds and the teams are tied for the win.
It's neck and neck, the tension rising.
In the final seconds, Jason catches the ball on the block, immediately calling for a timeout.
Steve turns to Angie, noticing her worried expression as she fidgets with her fingers. He grabs her hand softly, smirking at her passion for the game.
"What?" Angie questions, catching Steve's gaze upon her.
He dismisses her gently, returning his attention to the game as the timeout comes to an end.
Jason shoots, the ball rattling between the rim and the backboard. The ball falls loose and the crowd gasps.
The players scramble for the rebound, but Lucas comes through with it. He dribbles out of the chaos, pivoting against the three-point line, and he shoots.
Everyone freezes as the ball flies toward the hoop. The buzzer blares and Lucas' shot bounces in. The Hawkins High Tigers take the championship!
Angie jumps into Steve's arms, cheering as loud as her body would allow. Not only did Lucas get to play, but he made the game-winning shot.
The players lift Lucas from the ground, chanting his name as they head to the locker room to celebrate the win.
The gym dies down as the crowd funnels out of the building. Steve and Angie wait patiently outside the doors for Lucas to emerge.
They converse quietly, making small talk, until Angie spots Lucas in the crowd. She shouts for him, lifting her arm in the air to catch his eye.
He can't help but smile as he spots her. Angie jumps to hug him. She ust can't seem to contain herself, "You did it!" She shouts as Lucas chuckles from beneath her mountain of hair, "I'm so proud of you!"
Steve interjects, correcting her, "We're proud of you."
"Yes," Angie smiles, pulling away, "We are proud of you."
"Thank you guys for coming." Lucas shrugs nonchalantly, "I really do appreciate it."
"Of course." Steve steps up for a hug of his own, "We wouldn't miss it for the world."
"Hey," Angie begins, "Do you wanna--"
"Lucas, come on!"
She's interrupted by another player.
Lucas gives a shy grin, scratching his neck as if asking for permission.
"It's okay." She assures, "You go ahead."
He bursts with a smile, "I'll see you guys later."
Angie turns to Steve as Lucas fades into the crowd. He places his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close, "So," he begins, placing a soft kiss on her ear, "What do we wanna do now?"
She smiles, leaning into him, "I don't know. Eddie said he wanted the house to himself tonight." She sighs softly, "I didn't ask-- figured it was something that I'd be better off not knowing."
"Yeah," Steve mumbles seductively, "well, we could go back to my place."
Angie's breath falters, "Oh, yeah? And what would we be doing there?"
He nibbles her ear, knowing he's got her hooked, "I can think of a few things."
Angie releases herself from underneath him and desperately pulls his lips to her own.
She pulls away softly, Steve's gaze glued to her as his mouth hangs agape for her.
"I can think of a few things too." She smirks, leading him to the car.

So, it's been about 14 months since I last updated. If I'm being honest, I gave up on writing. I had some health problems and was beginning my senior year. I just didn't have it in me to express myself in this way. Well, now I've graduated and I could officially use that control back. Please forgive me for the time gap, but I hope you enjoyed!
