I heard giggling next to me. That's the reason I woke up.
I let out a breath before sitting up in my California king bed. I looked to my right only to see Kaiser and Jayla sitting ja'rods side of the bed.
"Good morning mommy!" Jayla chirped loudly. God she looks just like her dad.
Let me inform you about the past few years.
After I found out ja'rod killed my father, I was heartbroken and I did go to the cops and snitch but I told them I lied the next day.
They did look into it but didn't find anything on him as predicted.
Anyways we were broken up for a few months until Jayla was born. I was struggling being a first time mom and a single one at that, so he offered to help out for a while.
And a while turned into a months then a few years.
Anyways fast forward to right now and we're kinda together but not really.
I don't know it's just a mess.
I don't think he has grown which is the reason our relationship hasn't.
I moved into his house cause my house apartment wasn't big enough for all five of us.
Oh yea, did I forget to add that I'm five months pregnant?
Well surprise.
And you would think after I gave this man a child, and how good I've been to him, I still don't got a ring.
Anyways back to reality.
"Hi mommy pretty chocolate girl" I kissed my daughter, "and hey Kaiser"
"Hi" he said blandly.
I rolled my eyes, "Where's your daddy?"
"In his room"
"This is his room Kaiser the hell" I scrunched my face at his words, "you know what, you can leave my room"
"What?" Kaiser smacked his lips.
"Leave my room Kaiser—since you wanna be all shady and in grown folks business"
"Mommy no no" Jayla shook her head, "I want big brother to stay"
"No Jayla"
"I'm telling my daddy"
"Okay?" I felt tears in my eyes, "go ahead and tell him, he already hates me"
I watched as Kaiser stood up and stormed out of my room. The tears that were in my eyes fell down my face.
I loved Kaiser but his dad made him get distant with me.
I hate that this is my life. Why would ja'rod do this to me?
"Momma don't cry" Jayla pouted.
"Get off of mommy really fast" I moved her aside before leaving my room.
I slowly walked towards the guest bedroom which ja'rod stayed in most of the time.
