"WHY ARE WE DRIVING THIS FAST THIS LATE?!" Annie screeched as she gripped the car door.

"JUST BECAUSE! ALSO THE CORNERS DON'T EVEN EXIST!!" Emma hollered as the little red scooter veered sideways at a terrifying angle, all three girls somehow still clinging on.

Mia's hair whipped around like wild vines in the wind, her arms locked tight around Emma's chest. "I CAN'T FEEL MY EYEBALLS BUT I LOVE YOU!!"

"EMMA SLOW DOWN!!" Annie cried, nearly falling off as they zoomed past a bewildered farmer who dropped his basket of Nilk in shock.

"I CAN'T!" Emma shouted joyfully over the roar of the engine. "THE BRAKE'S BEEN STUCK SINCE WE LEFT THE MONASTERY!"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S STUCK?!"

"LIKE, SPIRITUALLY!"

"EMMA, THAT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING!!"

They screamed in unison as the scooter took a dramatic turn through a puddle, splashing water into the air like fireworks. Dotspot, tucked into the little pet basket next to Annie, looked absolutely betrayed, his ears flattened and face squashed back from the wind.

(Dotspot's the panda. From, like, a long time ago. Hope you guys remember. Also this car as no roof so)

"OH NO—WE'RE APPROACHING—THE—CORNER MARKET!" Annie shrieked.

"NOT THE FRUIT STAND!" Mia yelled.

"DEFLECT WITH FRIENDSHIP!" Emma howled, swinging the car into a full tilt and miraculously not crashing, sending a single lemon flying through the air and landing perfectly in Blackie's waiting paw on Mia's shoulder.

He blinked. "Huh. Nice."

Mia, breathless and flushed, turned to Emma as the car finally coasted to a halt, wheels spinning out in the gravel.

"...I still think we should paint our nails," she wheezed.

"I brought glitter polish," Annie said faintly, her voice trembling.

Dotspot whined.

Emma grinned, eyes wide and adrenaline still surging. "Best sleepover ever."

Blackie rolled his eyes. "Debatable."
