" IT'S THE MIDDLE OF JANUARY WHY ARE THERE SO MANY FIRES?!" Annie yelled as she turned the hydrant on.
" BECAUSE IT'S DRY IN JANUARY HERE THAT'S WHY!" Mia replied, using her water powers to try and contain the fires.
Emma was flapping her paper fan. " We need sand!"
" Sand?!" Annie cried. " Where do we find sand?!"
Zane, who has just frozen some fires, turned to the three.
" I suggest looking for a beach." He said, his tone calm and collected.
" And how are we supposed to do that, huh?" Mia asked sarcasticly. " Carry buckets of sand here?"
" It appears we have no buckets."
Mia just slapped her head.
Jay and Kai were throwing buckets of water. " Nya!" Jay yelled. " Over here!"
" I'm coming!" Nya yelled back.
Cole rammed his hands into the earth, creating a wall for the fire.
" That should hold them off until we can put em out."
Lloyd was calling all the fire stations he could think of. " Yes.... Hello..... Yeah, there's a big fire here.... Mhm.... Yeah... Yep...."
Blackie, who was usually doing nothing, was helping Emma with the hoses.
" COME ON PEOPLE MOVE IT!" he shouted.
Mia wiped her brow, glaring at the relentless blaze. “We need more water pressure over here!” she barked, her voice carrying over the crackling flames. Her water powers were doing their best, but even her control had limits.
Jay stumbled over with an empty bucket, panting. “Mia! Any chance you can refill this magically?”
Mia rolled her eyes and quickly summoned a burst of water to fill it. “There. Now go before the fire gets worse!”
Blackie, who was manning the hoses with Emma, let out a growl. “This would be so much easier if humans could organize themselves properly!”
“Not now, Blackie!” Emma snapped, gripping the hose tighter as the stream of water blasted toward the flames.
“Zane!” Kai yelled as he struggled to carry a heavy bucket. “Any chance you can freeze a firebreak here?!”
Zane, calm as ever, nodded. “Affirmative.” With a swift motion, he unleashed a sheet of ice that halted the fire’s advance temporarily.
