Jay took a long sip of hot cocoa and leaned on Kai's shoulder, eyes drooping. " ... What are we supposed to do?" He mumbled.
Kai, who was already stroking his sleeping sister's head, shrugged. " I dunno. Ideas."
Emma was visibly trying to calm down but failing, muttering something about ghosts and why do I even like them.
Mia cracked her neck. " ... So we're dealing with a ghost. On the moon. Eating the moon."
" And some asteroids." Emma piped up shyly.
We froze.
And turned to her.
" ... What."
Emma, realizing all eyes were now locked on her, shrank down in her seat, clutching her mug of cocoa like it was a lifeline. "...Y-Yeah, he said he was also snacking on some asteroids. Like... popcorn?"
Mia slammed her forehead into the table with a groan. "I—I don't—HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!"
Jay rubbed his temples, staring at Emma like she'd grown two heads. "WHY would he do that?!"
Emma flailed a little. "I DON'T KNOW! He said something about being hungry and that the moon looked tasty and—AND I PANICKED, OKAY?!"
Kai blinked slowly, deadpanning. "So. Let me get this straight. We have a ghost husband casually eating the moon, and now asteroids, and we have NO IDEA how to bring him back."
Emma's eyes welled up a little. "I SAID I was sorry!"
Annie, who had been silent, finally sighed and set her mug down with a clink. "Okay. Question. What happens if he finishes the moon?"
Everyone went still.
Jay froze mid-sip.
Mia's eyes snapped open.
Emma paled. "...Oh no."
Kai squinted. "Wait. Wouldn't that mean...?"
"...Like... no tides... or gravity or..." Annie trailed off.
Jay choked on his cocoa and started coughing violently. "WE'RE GONNA DIE!"
Emma's eyes filled with panic again. "MORROOOO! WHYYYYY?!"
Mia stood up, determination in her eyes. "Alright. No more waiting around. We're fixing this."
Jay, still coughing, waved a hand weakly. "How?!"
Mia's eyes narrowed.
"...We're going to need a bigger ship."

Emma's phone dinged, and she glanced down—only for her face to go completely blank. "...Uhhh..."
Mia, who was flipping through a manual for the Destiny's Bounty, looked up sharply. "What now?"
Emma slowly turned her phone around to show everyone the screen.
It was a selfie of Morro... on Neptune.
Lying in the bright blue clouds.
Making snow angels.
With the caption: "Neptune is so cozy! 😄❄️👻 Wish you were here!!"
The room went silent.
Jay's eye twitched. "That's not even snow!"
Kai stared, slack-jawed. "...HOW is he even ALIVE? How?!"
Annie blinked, leaning in. "Wait... *Is that a strawberry milkshake next to him?!"
Emma, voice cracking, wailed, "I don't KNOW! I don't KNOW ANYTHING ANYMORE!"
Mia slowly set the manual down, rubbing her temples. "...Okay. Okay. So now he's on Neptune, making snow angels, drinking a milkshake, and sending us selfies."
Jay flopped onto the couch dramatically. "We're doomed. The universe is doomed."
Emma started pacing, waving her phone in the air. "WHAT IF HE GOES TO SATURN NEXT?!"
Kai sighed, running his hands through his hair. "The rings. Oh my gosh, he's totally gonna eat the rings."
Mia's eyes narrowed, fists clenching. "...If he even touches Saturn's rings—"
Emma's phone dinged again.
She glanced down, went pale, and squeaked out, "Guys... he's... he's heading to Saturn."
The room exploded.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
" WHAT DO WE DOOOOOO?!" Jay wailed.
Kai groaned and slapped his forehead. "Oh no. No no no. We have to tell Wu."
Jay winced. "You mean wake Wu? Right now? In the middle of the night? You saw what happened last time..."
Emma, still waving her phone around, shrieked, "DO YOU WANT SATURN'S RINGS TO GET EATEN OR NOT?!"
Kai let out a long suffering sigh and stood up, carefully shifting Nya—who was still sleeping—off his shoulder. "Fine. But YOU'RE explaining it to him."
Emma froze mid-panic. "Wh-why me?!"
Mia stood up too, grabbing her jacket. "Because your ghost husband is the one making snow angels in space!"
Jay wrapped himself in a blanket like a burrito. "I'll just... stay here... and die of secondhand embarrassment."
Emma gulped but followed Mia and Kai down the hall to Wu's quarters.
Mia took a deep breath and knocked—once, twice, and a third time.
Nothing.
"...He's probably meditating," Kai whispered.
Mia knocked again, louder. "Master Wu?"
Silence.
Emma, jittery, raised her fist and slammed it against the door. "MASTER WU, HELP, MY HUSBAND'S EATING THE UNIVERSE!"
There was a long pause.
Then the door creaked open—and Wu stood there, in his night robes, holding a steaming cup of tea, eyes narrowed and very tired.
