" Hey, Emma?*

" Yeah?*

" Uhhhh.... Just a question."

" Ask away."

" Is it only me or is there a skull in the sky?"

Emma looked up from her canvas and blinked. " Wait what?!*

Annie, who had been peacefully reading, frowned at Mia. “Mia, what are you talking about?”

Mia, still staring wide-eyed out the window, pointed dramatically. “THAT!”

Emma and Annie rushed over, pressing their faces against the glass. Sure enough, hovering ominously in the sky, was the faint outline of a massive skull, swirling in the clouds like some kind of creepy ghostly warning.

Emma's eyes widened. “Okay. That’s definitely a skull.”

Annie squinted. “Maybe it’s just… a weird cloud?”

Mia scoffed. “Annie, do normal clouds have glowing red eyes?”

Annie blinked. “...I mean, I’d hope not.”

Blackie yawned from his spot on the bed. “Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was your fault, Mia.”

Mia gasped, scandalized. “EXCUSE ME?!”

Emma, still staring out the window, slowly reached for her sketchpad. “I dunno, guys. Should we be worried? Or is this, like… normal ninja stuff?”

Mia huffed. “I dunno, Emma. I may be a ninja, but even I don’t wake up expecting a floating doom skull outside my window.”

Annie bit her lip. “Maybe we should tell the others…”

Before Mia could agree, the door suddenly BURST open, and Kai stormed in, looking half-panicked, half-annoyed. “Okay, who messed with the weather?!”

Mia pointed at the window. “Look at it, Kai! That is NOT natural!”

Kai groaned, dragging a hand down his face. “Great. Just great. Floating skulls. That’s exactly what we needed today.”

Blackie flicked his tail. “I repeat: this is probably Mia’s fault.”

Mia threw her hands in the air. “WHY DO YOU KEEP BLAMING ME?!”

Emma leaned toward Annie. “Should we get popcorn?”

Annie nodded. “Oh, definitely.”
