X-Tale
Brom's ears perked up, his fur rippling in a manner unnatural for any living being with his form briefly warping to his natural form before snapping back to a small dog. He reluctantly stopped trying to bury the funny smelling Dream in the hole he made, a monster who was rather chill and happy to play with him, looking around to figure out why something felt wrong.
His small tail swished side to side, a slight swagger to his walk now that he achieved such a fearsome form, although there were some silly monsters who cooed at him due to being too stupid to realise how his body was now the embodiment of pure fear!
His smaller form was also good for snooping, few looking down as he slipped between legs and liked the flexibility that practically mimicked Toby's. Such a strange name that didn't suit the fearsome beast at all, his own name truly more impressive.
Every second step a few splotches of ink would drip off his fur, leaving a little trail that would vanish within minutes and subtly sink into the Code itself. It was a neat trick he had used when helping Star keep an AU stable, truly he was one of the best companions ever with other silly Broomies out there hardly on his level.
The Broomy Origin had, was okay but they often stayed in the background and didn't interact with the physical aspect of reality much, mainly lounging in the Code or in Origins scarf until needed. At least Jammy's Broomy stayed with them even if in a small pen form, not often chatting with them as they often muttered in Code or to the Voices and shared it with their monster.
He hadn't been sure about these monsters at first but in the end Star really had picked some good ones, impressive they found an actual decent Creator and Destroyer pair.
He was still the best Broomy of course, sniffing the air to try and locate Star as something in the Code was going funny. He casually got into Sirius and Vega's personal space to double check they were okay. He took his job as very good boy seriously.
"Ugh, my clothes are covered in fur. How is it even possible?! He's not even a real dog!"
"He's gotten better at Creation magic. So much more realistic to a true dog...dog slobber is not something i ever wanted to experience so closely"
"...how have you never been near a dog before?"
"I lived with Ink for your years and then I snapped and went crazy. It's not like I had time to have a calm life and experience everything normal"
"Damn, i sometimes forget how depressing our life was early on...these books are less annoying to deal with now after that reminder"
"Good, now help me try and decode what any of these words mean. I'm not convinced this is in English.."
He sneezed once he was satisfied these monsters were fine, bouncing off to leave them to whatever silly things they were doing. Giving a brief sniff at the figure buried under the books whose groans showed that the silly Error was still alive. He couldn't have any of Star's current toys die off too easily.
The AU had RESET again by the time he reached Origin, graciously allowing himself to be picked up as he licked the monster's face to taste their wellbeing, the mixture of paints he could sense stable and adequate. He was passed to End which was rather useful so he could check them out as well. He had to give an accurate update to Star when he found them afterall.
