Hope sighed as she saw the island. There it is. I'm back. Don't worry, Henry, we're gonna find you, and I'm gonna show you some great adventures here. If Greg and Tamara took you here, Peter will know where they are. I'm guessing by the time we hit shore, they will be in cages, and you'll be dancing around the bonfire. She thought happily. Emma glanced over her shoulder at Killian, "Is that it?"
"Aye. Neverland." He nodded as he turned the wheel, slowing the ship down.
"Why are you slowing down? In case you didn't know, my son's life is in danger." Regina yelled at him.
"Oh, I know, my hot-headed queen. My plan is to bring us to the far side of the island, link up with the widest part of the river. Then we sail tight though and take him by surprise." He explained as everyone got untangled with their ropes.
Hope nodded to him. "That's a good plan. Go through water instead of the land. The Lost Boys have traps everywhere, and they may have moved them from the last time we were here. You know how the island likes to change."
"The irony." Killin mumbled to himself.
"What irony?" Regina asked with a bite in her voice.
"Oh, I've spent more time than I care to remember trying to leave this place to kill Rumplestiltskin, here I am sailing right back into its heart with him as my guest of honor. It's not quite the happy ending I was hoping for."
Regina nodded in understanding as she looked at Mary Margaret, David, and Emma. "Greg Mendell said something funny to me. He said I'm a villain. And that villains don't get happy endings. You believe that?"
"No." Hope answered even if the question was not for her. "I don't think either of you are villains anymore. I think the 'winners' tell the stories, so you're painted as villains. You may be dark, but not hopeless. You did what you did for someone you love." She looked at them both. "You do the same thing as the 'heroes', but you will do anything to get it done."
"Bold words from a very heroic girl," Killian said with a playful smile. "What makes you think you really know how villains tick, Songbird?"
Hope laughed a bit. "Except for Henry and Belle, they are the people I care most about. I spent eighty-three with Lost Boys and Peter Pan, who most people think is one of the evilest around for stealing children from their families." Lies and more lies. He saves us from our families, who don't give a shit about us. "I spent almost the same amount of time with you, Captain Hook. I was raised by the Dark One for almost thirty years, and I was the trusty babysitter of the Evil Queen's son for about half that time.
"I've seen darkness my whole life and have never been scared of the ones who have it, except for William, but we don't talk about him. You all care about something so much that you will do anything to get it and protect it. When I think of the 'villains', I know I see passionate people that protect what is theirs and the ones they love, however they can."
The three of them stood quietly for a minute, thinking about what Hope said. "No, you won't." Rumple appeared out of nowhere, wearing something Hope had never seen before but knew what it was from the story. He was wearing his Dark One clothes, a version of them in all black instead of the shades of browns and reds.
Killian mumbled to Hope, "Well, that's a great use of our time, a wardrobe change."
Emma, Mary Margaret, and David walked over to them. "I'm gonna get Henry."
Regina gave him a look like he was stupid. "We agreed to do this together."
Rumple turned to her, "Actually, we made no such agreement."
