I paced Jax's office as I waited for Giles, I had reached out to him not to long ago once I had activated Jax's office lockdown. All the windows were blocked by a metal barrier along with the door. Leaving only the lights on the ceiling keeping the room bright, the room was soundproof from within so no one can hear us from the outside. It was the perfect room to be hidden and safe just like Giles had requested in order for me to talk to him.

Anything?

Jax had mind linked me, he was not happy that he could not be part of our conversation but he reluctantly agreed. No doubt standing on the other side of the door, he also had a failsafe button with him. Which meant if he wanted he could unlock his office from out there, something he insisted on having if I was going to do this alone.

No

I looked over at the three large bottles of alcohol sitting on his desk. If Giles was going to have me waiting then I'll start without him. I grabbed one of the bottles, ripped the cap off and took a large swig. Since I was too pent up from waiting on him, I did not even feel the burn as the liquid went down my throat. I took another swig, getting more impatient by the second. There was nothing I could do but wait, I could not force Giles to come or to help us. Everything depended on whether he would help us, I hated that thought but it was true. I kept the bottle in my hands as I paced. Taking gulps every few minutes, I could feel a buzz coming on and this was starting to feel like I was getting stood up. Maybe he got freaked out, or maybe he found out about the attack from yesterday.

I don't think h-

I stopped my mind link to Jax when I saw him. He appeared behind Jax's desk, looking around the room as he inspected it, like he was making sure it was indeed hidden and private. His brown hair was a mess, like he had just woken up. His clothes were wrinkled and stained, he wore a baggy green sweater with some grey cargo pants. His eyes weren't on me, they were looking every where else. He reached of alcohol, the second he saw the bottles on the desk, he went for one as he opened it and took a swig himself.

"You sure took your time coming." I crossed my arms over my chest, keeping a hold on my own bottle.

"Dangerous, had to be careful. You were attacked no?" So he did know about the attack from yesterday.

"We were." I lifted the bottle to my lips, taking another long shot. He nodded his head as he started rambling in whispers. Realizing that he wasn't going to start the conversation, it was up to me.

"We need your help, I was told you had information." He turned around to look at the books that sat on the shelves, his finger running over each one.

"Alone right?" He never looked at me, it was like he was trying to avoid looking at me.

"Just the two of us." He turned towards me, finally looking at me. He stood still as he stared at me. Taking another shot, he rounded the desk as he walked up to me.

"Just like her." His eyes held a sort of sadness and longing. I cocked my head to the side as I tried to understand this man. I knew who he was talking about, every part of me wanted to ask him about her. But I was worried I'd scare him off, I needed the location of the royals before I asked about her. Getting a closer look at the man, he seemed old but he had a sense of youth to him. I heard Fae could change their appearance slightly, they could hold onto their youth or make themselves look older. It was a way to help them blend in or disguise themselves if they wanted.

"You're not old at all are you?" The question came out before I knew it. He didn't seemed fazed by my question. He took another sip as he kept his eyes on me, he reached his hand out but I stepped back on instinct. Retracting his hand back he mumbled an apology.
