Scorching winds burned my skin, my hair whipped ferociously behind me. Sand was flying everywhere impeding my eyesight, the sun no longer visible making the area a yellowish grey color. My feet forced stuck in the sand, I tried looking around for the rest of the group but the wind made it nearly impossible. Sand flew everywhere in a circular motion like a tornado, muffled shouts came from everywhere. I was frozen to my spot, the winds too strong to let me take another step. It felt like I was chained to my spot, in this very moment my limbs were useless. It took every ounce of strength to use an arm as a protective shield for my eyes.

"Jax!" It felt useless to shout, my voice getting lost in the wind. I had to cough out the sand that got into my mouth, trying to speak was out of the question.

Oaks

Jax's voice boomed in my head, I tried turning my head to find him but all I could see was sand. I needed to keep moving, needed to get out of this sandstorm. I attempted to move my feet again but I failed.

Can't move

I needed to figure out how to get through this, instead of trying to lift my feet I tried sliding them through the sand. I smiled in triumph when my leg moved forward ever so slightly. Slowly my legs moved forward through the angry winds. Sweat dripped down my forehead as I walked, my skin felt like it was on fire but I knew I couldn't stop. I needed to keep moving until I was out of this storm. It felt like hours until I saw a ray of light, I squinted my eyes trying to get a better view. My vision was impaired but what I saw was definitely not what I was expecting. Sand was moving exceptionally fast in a wide circle, it was like I was headed straight for the eye of the storm. It was the only thing I've seen and turning around was not an option so I headed straight for it hoping to get out of this raging sandstorm even if its for a minute.

Once I was close enough, I reached my hand out, my fingertips just barely passing through the fast winds. My feet slowly sliding through the sand, my arm now passed the rough winds. I could feel the calm winds just passed the veil of moving sand. I pushed myself harder until my foot passed through. I landed roughly on my knees as I took in a deep breath, grateful to finally be out of the sandstorm. The hot sand buried my hands but at least it wasn't flying anymore, I got to my feet looking to the moving sand behind me. One step backwards and I'd be back in the storm.

"Cade!" I ran to his body laying on the sand, he didn't respond to my shouting. Jumping next to his body, I shook him to wake up but nothing was working.

"What the?" His eyes were open but glazed in white, his pupils were gone. I looked around, the wide opening covering us in a moving sand wall. Six bodies, all lying perfectly still including Jax. I scramble to my feet as I ran to him. His eyes were the same white as Cade's, panic rose within me as I tried waking him up but nothing was working. My head flew in all directions trying to figure out what was going on. That's when I saw it. A figure surrounded in a smokeless fire looming over ten feet tall, its head thrown back as if it was looking right up to the sky. It was like it hadn't noticed me yet. Whatever was happing to Jax and my group was because of this thing in front of me. With shaky legs I walked towards it, the closer I got I was able to see it clearly. Its body had the form of a female with every part of her covered in muscles, thin sheer silk like cloth  wrapped around, accentuating her form. I reached for my dagger, gripping it tightly as I walked towards her.

Her head whipped in my direction so fast looking right at me, her glowing gold eyes narrowed. So much for a surprise attack, I sprinted towards her but she made no intention of moving. Once I was close enough I jumped aiming right for her head. She smiled, my arm up high ready to plunge my dagger right in-between her eyes. Before I could make contact, a force gently pushed against me. My grip on my dagger loosened, unable to move as I fell backwards.
