Slowly I start to open my eyes, flinching because of the slight pain in my back. I turn starting to stretch when all of a sudden, my hand smacks something hard.

"The fuck?" I hear a raspy voice. I jump up in a seated position when I finally realize where I'm at. I turn towards the voice to see Jax sitting on the floor rubbing his head. I swallow my laugh when he gathers himself and turns to face me.

"You should really be careful swinging those around." He says motioning to my hands. I chuckle involuntarily. He shoots me a glare daring me to laugh again, I stop immediately.

"I'm sorry, are you okay?" He gets up and stretches, I look down to notice his shirt ride up giving me access to what's underneath.

I want more of that.

I scoff at my wolf but she doesn't seem to care at all. In all honestly I would not mind seeing everything under his shirt.

"Like what you see." He smirks at me, I look at him and scoff. I get up off the couch, heading towards my room to check up on Jennifer, embarrassed that I was caught looking.

"Wait, before you go. I need your help arranging everything for your, uhh, friend." He seems a bit uncomfortable mentioning her. I turn towards him and give him a slight smile. The small action to show that he is trying makes me warm on the inside, despite the both of us being rouges, he really is trying.

"Thank you for trusting me on this and letting her stay here." I say sincerely. I walk back up to him taking in his disheveled look, the wrinkled up dark shirt, his messy hair pushed up against his head like it's been against a hard surface for too long. The faint smell of cologne he had on the night before, and of course the sleepy eyes burning with curiosity aimed right at me.

"As of right now, it's just temporary, if my pack can't trust her then I won't be able to keep her for long." I nod, letting him know I understand. His groggy voice slowly waking up and turning normal.

"She'll stay with me, and I'll share my clothes with her so you don't have to give up anything belonging to your pack." I compromise with him, hoping he knows I'm not trying to take advantage of his forced hospitality. He looks a bit hesitant but then nods in agreement. He turns to his desk, ready to sit down and do more pack paperwork. Before he leaves my reach, I go to grab his hand causing him to stop and face me. I try to ignore the sparks in my hand that's connected to his. The warmth radiating from his hands stopping me from my thoughts, fully focused on his touch. He turns to me, waiting for an explanation as to why I grabbed his hand. At first I don't know why I grabbed him, maybe part of me wanted to touch him or maybe I wanted to know what it felt like to hold his hand? I scramble for a reason why I grabbed him so it doesn't seem like it was for nothing. He just stays still, his hand slightly tightening around mine. The sudden motion bringing me back knowing exactly how to continue.

"Thank you, this means the world to me, she means the world to me." I keep eye contact with him for a few seconds. I give him a small smile showing how grateful I really am, for a split second my body moves on its own. Pulling his arm behind me, and wrapping my free hand around his neck, fully enveloping him in a hug. My whole body pressed up against his chest, a rough but soft surface, every muscle tensing and then relaxing. He finally gets the hint and wraps around my small figure. I'm not sure how long we stay like this but then he parts from the hug, not showing any sign of being flustered or surprised but relaxed.

"I should go and uhh, check up on her." Breaking the silence, but not looking away from him. The moment keeping me trapped in a sort of haze my body doesn't seem to want to leave. I force myself to turn around and head back to my room. Stepping into the dark room, I look towards the bed to see Jennifer snuggled up in the blankets, glancing at the clock that read seven in the morning. Shimmers of light peeking in from the curtains leading to the balcony catches my attention, making the decision that I won't be sleeping anytime soon. I go to pull the large curtains open to reveal the sliding door. Sliding it open and letting the warm breeze hit me and the heat from the morning sun is exactly what I need. I look around and notice a small couch and decide to sit down, taking in the peaceful morning, looking out towards the woods.
