"You blundering, back-stabbing fool," Two cackled, lifting Erythos into the air. The man stared him down without a flicker of uncertainty in his eyes, despite the fact he was about to die.

"Lord Erythos!"

Two's head snapped to the side as a female Ranger ran up, her palm outstretched. "What a pretty little lady," he cooed, "is she your girlfriend?"

Otora tensed at the word, her gaze switching to Erythos. "Hardly," she said before closing her hand into a fist. Two bellowed, dropping Erythos as a high-pitched sound filled the air. Erythos made a move to clamp his hands over his ears to stop the pounding headache.

As Otora opened her fist, Two twitched, a gnarled hand swiping at her. The dark-skinned woman danced back, aiming a swift kick at his wrist. A sharp snap was heard as Two snarled, his hand withdrawing to his chest.

Erythos lunged for him, his arms locking around his neck before repeatedly bashing his head into the side of Two's.

"Maybe," between each word, Erythos spat blood. "You," spit. "Should," slam. "Leave," spit. "Us," slam. "Alone!"

Two gripped his forearms, wrenching forward. The blonde was thrown off, landing in the dirt in a crumpled heap.

"As I said," he hissed through his teeth, "you're a fool! I am an Eternal Demon!"

He didn't answer, his arms aching and his legs and torso burning. "I don't care," Erythos ground out, crawling to his knees.

He didn't see the fist hurling towards his stomach.

Erythos bent over as the clawed hand snapped his rips without any problem, his eyes wide in surprise.

"Lord Er-!" Otora ducked as a demon's hand whirled by her face, flipping backwards to land a handstrand before springing up again and resuming her battle.

"About time I silence you," Two said, starting towards the half-curled man. His grey hand seized Erythos by the neck, lifting him into the air before the other dragged down his throat, a thin line slowly appearing.

"Deeper..." he applied a bit more pressure, and Erythos didn't object as Two traced the line, the claw cutting deep into his throat.

Otora slammed the demon's head into the ground. "No," she whispered, breathless as the Eternal Demon let his broken body fall to the ground.

"No."

Two years.

Every day, she would come out at 3:12, the exact time he died. The exact time Two disappeared, when time stopped working.

"Tora."

"I don't want to hear it," Otora said flatly, shoving her twin again. Brix didn't object, however, also staring at the outline of a grave in the fog.

"I'll...leave you be, then," she murmured before she backed away, disappearing back into the building.

"Lady Otora!"

She stiffened.

No.

"Lady Otora!" He called again, and through the fog, she could see a body shape. Tall, well-fit.

Pulling herself up from her seated position, Otora peered closer, doubting it slightly.

It was when he emerged from the fog that she lost it.

The Ranger nimbly bounded across the worn battleground, launching herself at Erythos. "I thought you d-" her voice cracked for a moment on the end, sounding like she was about to cry.

"Died? Psh, nah."

Otora's grip tightened on him. "Don't ever leave me again."

"I promise."
