AND CAS/MO HAVE NO ACTUAL STORY WHY AM I SPEAKING IN CAPS

Also, it was a writing prompt.

"About time you got home!"

"Shut up, Mo," I replied, the straps of the bag held between my hands slipping and falling on the couch. I plopped down next to it, sighing.

"Dude, it's like two AM!" my twin retorted. "I'm preparing my mid-night snack."

"It's two AM."

"I forgot to set my alarm, okay?" Mo muttered, an almost upset edge to his tone. He appeared in the doorway of our kitchen, holding jam in one jar and a spoon in the other.

I cocked an eyebrow, a smile tugging at my lips. "Your midnight snack is jam?"

He glanced down at his hands before shoving the spoon in the jar and hiding it behind his back. "What?" he exclaimed in mock surprise. "Psh, nah."

"Very funny," I laughed.

"But seriously, Cas, where were you? I thought it was your day off?"

I rubbed at my eyes, drowsily allowing my head to fall back on the cushions. "With someone..."

"Oh! Was it that chick I saw you with a couple of weeks ago?" Mo nudged his glasses back up his nose, turning away and trotting into the kitchen. I tilted my head slightly to watch him search for the bread.

"Which one? If you're talking about Grace, no, she's just a person from the library that wanted my number."

"Nah- the pipsquea-ACK!"

His shriek was followed by the sound of shattering. I muttered insults under my breath before getting up, stumbling over to him. "Gah...Mo..that's the third plate you broke in the past two days..."

Mo looked slightly offended. "I'm naturally clumsy!" he defended.

"I know," I grunted, glancing at the broken pieces of the plate and the broom. "You know what, you clean that up. I cleaned the other two."

He made a whining noise before dropping the sand-which he was making and heading over to the broom.

"And for your information," I said, "Her name isn't pipsqueak, it's Aileen."

"Whatever. Just tell me when ya propose, kay?"

I swatted at him, which resulted in a chuckle followed by a soft 'ow...'.

"Anyways, I'm going upstairs. See ya."

OoO

"Hey, Casper, why aren't you asleep?"

I turned my head to face the shadowy form of Mo standing in the doorway, my eyes squinting at the light behind him.

"I'm fine, Mo, no nightmares."

His frame visibly relaxed, glancing up at the top bunk to peer at me. "Then why can't you sleep?"

I exhaled slowly, rolling over on my side as my back faced him. "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better then dreams."

"She's be a good influence on you."

Okay this sounded better in my head
