Sixteen long years.
Rixen Ashita knelt and brushed away the dirt adorning the engraved letters. "Jax-kun," she whispered, propping up her umbrella so that it cast over the grave.
Jaxson Rixen
ジャクスソン リクスエンShe didn't bother to read the rest, she had already memorized by heart. What hurts more is that there was no body.
"Mom!" Ashita heard her son bark. "I think I failed in cooking, the stove's on fire!"
She sighed in return, mustering up a half-smile as she brought a hand through her hair. "I'll be right there!" she called back. "Give me a moment!"
Zygrado yelled something in return, and a sharp reply from her other child, Zyicho made the conversation fade.
Ashita sighed, picking up the umbrella again. "I love you," she murmured, repeating them. "I love you. I love you," The last ones came out as a sob, and she pressed her fingers to her tear-streaked cheeks. "I love you."
The rain splattered against the grave, coating the worn stone with droplets.
"I miss you," she murmured as she straightened, standing up. "I love you."
She was about to turn back to help her son with the burning stove, her footsteps unheard from the pounding of the rain against stone.
Ashita's mint-green eyes hovered on the house in the distance and she could make out the flickering light of an ember inside.
"Bye, Jax-kun."
She was about to leave when two arms secured around her waist and yelped as she was lifted into the air.
"Wistern-san!" She half-shrieked, and squirmed in his grip.
"...after so long, I would expect that you had grown your hair out."
That sentence was all it took for Ashita to fully burst into tears.
She turned her head to the side, and it was confirmed when she saw a tuft of silver out of the corner of her eyes before the man holding her whirled her around.
"I love you," he said, his lips brushing her ear.
It was that time when she turned around to face him, with those strange green eyes of his and the scar across his nose is when she started crying again, her tears mixing with the rain.
"Jax-kun...you came back..."
Jaxson looked doubtful for a moment, his brow furrowing. "...call me Tekkan."
