"And my favorite song is Goner by Twenty-One Pilots!"

"Oh, really? I'm pretty sure that's playable with Mo and I..."

She looked up curiously, lacing her fingers together as her eyes shone with excitement. "You play?" She asked, a giddy edge to her tone.

"Mmhm."

"Hey, Sharklord, what's with playing all afternoon?"

Casper looked up from his guitar, meeting the gaze of his twin brother. "I'm trying to learn a song," he replied, his hands tapping his guitar gently.

Mo leaned against the doorframe, then strode forward and plopped down on the floor before reaching for the set of yellow-and-black headphones, which were resting near Casper's feet.

"...you sure you can play this on the guitar?" He questioned, twisting the wire around his finger. His brother nodded.

"Let's hear it, then."

OoO

Casper readjusted the camera, smiling that childish grin of his. "Hey, Aileen. Um..."

He trailed off, running a hand through his choppy hair as red tinted his cheeks. "Anyways, um...yeah, I guess you'll hear me play for a little while. I hope you enjoy."

With that, the brunette sat back, pulling a guitar to his chest, then started playing.

It was clearly different from the original song since in the actual song it sounded like a piano.

"I'm a goner, someone catch my breath. I'm a goner, somebody catch my breath..."

"Aile...y-you're..."

Her eyes could been seen even in the darkness of the room, reflecting the lights from outside the windows.

"I'm right here, Cas. That's what friends are for."

Her tone was serious, which was rare while she was with him.

"It....it was...a n-n-nightmare...no...n-night terror, p-possibly..."

"I wanna be known by you, I wanna be known by you."

She smiled up at him, the action seeming to light up the entire area.

"It's your turn to ask a question, Cas!"

"I'm a goner, somebody catch my breath. I'm a goner, somebody catch my breath.

"I wanna be known by you, I wanna be known by you."

"Isn't that what friends are for?"

He raised his head, tired eyes flicking towards her direction as a smile tugged at his lips.  "Yes," he admitted.

"Though I'm weak and beaten down, I'll slip away into this sound,"

He was crying. Or, at least, had been.

She hadn't saw this side of him before- the Casper she knew seemed strong.

But it didn't matter to her. Friends stick by each other, no matter what.

Maybe more then friends.

"The ghost of you is close to me, I'm inside out, you're underneath."

His eyes flickered over to a spot in the shadows, lips sealed.

"You'll find out later," he promised, raising his hand, which clasped hers in it, and pressed a kiss to the back of it.

"C-C-Cas!" She muttered. "Tell me now."

He smiled at the sight of her being flustered. "Nope."

"I've got two faces, blurry's the one I'm not. I've got two faces, blurry's the one I'm not."

"I've never seen this side of you!"

"Well. Then, now you have."

His voice was bitter. "Aile...I am so sorry."

When she raised her gaze, the brunette had already taken off, his shadow retreating in the rain.

"I need your help to take him out, take him out."

His arms around her tightened.

"That was so stupid of me...so mean. So...inhumane," he muttered, his face buried in her shoulder.

"Can...can I ask you to forgive me?" he asked softly, his voice barely border lining a whisper.

"Though I'm weak and beaten down, I'll slip away into this sound, the ghost of you is close to me. I'm inside-out, you're underneath. Though I'm weak and beaten down, I'll slip away into this sound, the ghost of you is close to me. I'm inside-out, you're underneath."

"Of course I didn't forget you, Cas!"

"You really didn't have to-"

She grinned up at him, holding out a present. "Merry Christmas!" she told him, a cheerful edge to her words.

"Aile..."

"Accept it!"

With that, she linked one hand with his and with the other, touched the bruises lining his cheekbones. "You're a brave one," she told him.

"Don't let me be gone, don't let me be gone, don't let me be gone, don't let me be gone..."

He held her hands in his, his face slightly flushed. "I'm going away for a little awhile, okay? I'll...I'll miss you."

"You're so cheesy!" she laughed.

"Don't let me be, don't let me be."

"Don't worry. We're friends for life now, right?" as she said this, she glanced at their intertwined pinky-fingers.

"That's right."

"I'm a goner, somebody catch my breath. I'm a goner, somebody catch my breath."
