"I finally got rid of them."
Twenty-two year-old Callum Isaac Alexandro-Faithlin dropped his bags, plopping down on the couch and resting his forearms on his knees.
"I'm finally going to Iceland..."
Rivel, who was simply known as Rivel and nothing else, since both him and Tyria, his wife, didn't have surnames (although it might be smart to adopt one) leaned against the counter.
"I don't recall you ever mentioning going to Iceland before," he noted.
Callum snorted. "I haven't. I just want to get away from my family."
Rivel sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he recalled the argument Callum had with his older sister nearly a month back.
"You damn piece of shit, how can you fucking say that to Mum? If it weren't for them, you wouldn't be fucking alive at this moment! And still you fucking say that you prefer that damn Uncle Rivel?! I'd rather you'd never been fucking born in the first damn place if you're just gonna be an ungrateful brat!"
"That family is trash," Callum muttered, pushing himself off the couch and pulling himself up to his full-height, which was nearly on par with Rivel.
The redhead stared at him, features wrinkling in disgust. But quickly, Rivel's amber eyes flashed away, staring at a speck in the carpet floor instead.
"I hate them. I hate them all. They can all go die in hell. Maddox, Shikimo, Mavis, Ki-"
Rivel's hand whipped around before Callum could register it.
The sound of skin slapping against skin echoed once in the room.
Callum's head had whipped around from the force of Rivel's backhand, but rather anger blowing up in his eyes, he reached up and touched the stinging part of his cheek with one finger, eyes glistening in disbelief.
"Y-You..."
"Slapped you, yes. And I'm prepared to do it again. Stop talking about your family like that. Perhaps if you weren't such a brat," Rivel spat, raising his hand once again. "Things wouldn't turn out like this."
Following his statement, Callum's eyes shifted into more of a defensive look. "It's the truth!"
Another slap, this time in the other direction.
"Callum, that's enough."
