On each person's bangle, there is a single action that the participant is not allowed to perform. If that action is performed, then a lethal dose of poison is administered. The poison will also be administered if the participants attempt to remove or tamper with their bangles.

The execution is tied to the Monokuma bangles worn by participants of the ; specifically, to the NG Codes (or Forbidden Actions) displayed by each one. If a participant violates their NG Code, the bangle detects this and injects a lethal, fast-acting poison into the violator's bloodstream, indicated by a small electronic jingle.
The poison rapidly spreads through the victim's body, turning the left side of their body dark purple. Their blood vessels become engorged, particularly in the left eye, which turns red and begins "crying" blood as a result of the increased pressure. The victim usually dies moments later.

Maddox swiped his hand across his mouth, looking at the patterns of blood that smeared across his sleeve.
There were four of them left.
Casper looked tense, one hand wrapped around from where he took a nasty hit from one of the members that had triggered his NG Code earlier in the game.
Zyicho Rixen. Forbidden action: holding an object.
Zyicho had become enraged and picked up a knife, triggering his code, but not before he managed to tear it down Casper's arm.
Maddox didn't hate the silver-haired boy for it. His brother had been taken away earlier in the game, body found with a knife through it's wrist and neck, bleeding out on the meeting table.
"Do you think it's fair? That he's dead and your goddamn twin is still alive? WHY ISN'T YOUR BLOODY TWIN DEAD?!"
That was a blow to Casper's pride, but the following event hurt him more.
Mo Dalles. Forbidden Action: Saying his twin's name, Casper Dalles.
Maddox sighed, looking over at the older man. He looked tired, eyes sunken.
The next person alive was a redhead, Aoi. She was as fiery as her hair, perhaps even more, but that fire had silenced once the attacker took away her boyfriend.
They found Basil hanging upside down from the ceiling, neck covered in bruises and a rope tied around his wrists and ankles, snapping them due to the weight.
