The light of familiarity flickered Elsa awake and as she let out a loud groan in frustration knowing that she had passed out merely minutes after standing up from saying she was all right. She turned her head to see two looming figures standing over her as she laid down on one of the infirmary beds.
"Shit.... I passed out, didn't I?" she asked.
Jack "You had us both worried." He replied in a worried tone.
"Sorry." She mumbled. "What happened anyways?"
Grace "Looks like the anti-serum was a lot stronger than I thought it would be.
Elsa "Does that mean it worked?" she replied rubbing her temples as she sat up slightly.
Grace "I have no idea; I'd have to run a check through the system on you." she shrugged.
Jack "She wanted to ask you first before running the tests." He smiled back at his girlfriend his heart pounding against his chest with nerves.
Elsa "You have my permission."
Grace "Okay hang on, I'll check them through."
With a quick nod, Grace turned to the computer terminal nearby, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she began the diagnostics. The soft beeping of the machines filled the silence, each sound a small reassurance that things were being checked properly. Jack moved to Elsa's side, reaching for her hand, offering silent comfort as they both watched Grace work.
Minutes ticked by tension hanging heavy in the air. Grace's eyes darted over the streams of data, her brow furrowing in concentration. Elsa squeezed Jack's hand, drawing strength from his presence as anxiety gnawed at her, waiting for any sign—good or bad—from the vitals that flashed on her screen.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Grace let out a slow breath and glanced up from the monitor. "Your vitals are stabilising, they look somewhat promising, but it doesn't exactly tell me anything else."
Jack "I guess we'll just have to wait and see if you feel better over the next few days and if any of the effects you've been feeling are still there."
Elsa "Your right, I should just wait and see. I think I'm just getting ahead of myself." She frowned a little.
Jack calmly collected her hand into his rubbing the back of it with his thumb while he reassured her with a bright white smile.
Jack gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. "It's completely understandable, Elsa. After everything you've just been through, anyone would feel the same." He tried to offer a comforting smile, though concern lingered in his eyes. "Whatever happens, I'll be here."
Grace "How are you feeling now Elsa? has the dizziness gone?" she asked.
Elsa "Yes its gone, I feel fine."
Grace "Are you sure? that's what you said before, besides I need to make sure your hundred percent before I let you go." She raised a brow.
Elsa "I promise, I'm completely fine. I just feel a little strange." She said standing on her feet.
Grace "It might be from the dosage but, just to be sure I'll give you something to take the edge of for now. We'll keep an eye on it though." She expressed.
Grace moved over to the nearby cabinet, rummaging gently through its contents until she located a small vial and a packet of tablets. She handed them to Elsa with a reassuring nod. "Just
take one now and another before bed. If you feel any worse, ring me straight away."
Elsa accepted the medication, glancing at the label before nodding her understanding. She hesitated for a moment, then took the tablet Grace had indicated and washed it down with a sip of water from the glass Jack offered her. The room was quiet except for the faint clink of the glass being set back down, and Elsa managed a small, grateful smile.
