Five Years Later
Snowflakes drifted gently past the tall arched windows of the Winters Institute, muffling the world outside in a silvery hush. Within the heart of the old stone building, Elsa lingered by the window of her office, her breath fogging the glass as she gazed out at the world she and Jack had rebuilt—not only as dedicated scholars, but as covert agents working under the guise of the Institute's mission.
Since those dark days, Elsa and Jack had transformed the Winters Institute into a place overflowing with happiness—a sanctuary that shimmered with laughter, hope, and second chances. The halls resonated with joyous voices, and the sense of community they fostered seemed to chase away even the most persistent shadows. The Institute thrived, not just as a centre of learning and a front for their secret missions, but as a true home for everyone who sought belonging.
It had been five years since Elsa confronted Pitch Black in a battle that would define her fate—five years since she ended his reign of fear of what he'd done to her and her family, and since that harrowing night when Nick was hurt from Pitch. Remarkably, Nick remained at the Institute, returning to his roots as a medic. His calm presence was a balm to many, and he worked alongside Grace, tending to both the visible wounds and the invisible scars carried by the Institute's residents. Together, Nick and Grace formed the heart of the medical wing, their dedication quietly sustaining the happiness and health of their chosen family. Teddy however had decided to retire from the endless missions and get married to his true love once and for all, they'd adopted a little girl called Lydia and spoiled her unconditionally with love and care.
Hiccup and Merida had decided to grow their adventures for a while with a little travelling and took a break, they soon returned with Merida having a ring on her finger and full of passion for hr missions that she still headed on with Flynn and Kristoff. Hiccup was still in charge off the agents alongside with Elsa and Jack who both knew Hiccup was right for the job. Punzie and Flynn had decided to tie the knot long after Elsa and Jack had with their many years of being together and had even adopted a small little dog that needed a lot of care of being mistreated, after everyone had learnt the truth of what had actually happened over at the corporation Punzie made a few changes at the institute that Elsa couldn't refuse, she had always known Punzie had the eye for helping others so when she came to her with the idea of putting her weapon to the side and opening a therapy space she loved it. Anna and kristoff were still happily together, not ready yet to get married as they felt like they still had many adventures of them both together in the future. Although it seemed like they were already married with anna demanding chocolate her first love that is.... Elsa had kept her promise to her younger sister sharing many days together of whatever they wanted to do and also telling her everything that had truly happened over at the black corporation which had been hard to tell....Anna cried but hugged her sister tight.
Jack and Elsa well....
Jack's steady voice echoed from the corridor, carrying with it a warmth that never failed to make Elsa smile. He was reading their daughter's favourite fairy tale, hiding coded references in the stories—a habit born from their years in the field.
Elsa placed a hand on her stomach, a private smile tugging at her lips. She hadn't told Jack yet, not wanting to distract him from their latest mission or reveal her secret before the right time. Their second child. The thought filled her with both anticipation and uncertainty, much like the moments before a new assignment. She imagined Jack's reaction—his eyes wide with delight, his arms wrapping around her, and quiet vows to keep their growing family safe from all dangers.
The door creaked and Jack appeared, their daughter perched on his hip, her pale blonde plait askew and her cheeks flushed with laughter. He grinned at Elsa, the years having done little to dull the spark of mischief—or the sharpness behind his eyes, always alert, always ready.
"There you are, Agent Winters" he teased, bowing low in mock formality. Their daughter giggled, squirming free and darting to Elsa's side.
Elsa knelt, pressing a kiss to her daughter's forehead. She looked up at Jack, her heart full. "Ready for our next mission?" she asked, voice soft but purposeful.
Jack smiled, crossing the room to take her hand. "With you? Always."
Elsa squeezed Jack's hand, glancing at their daughter who was now spinning in circles, her laughter echoing off the walls. The room felt alive with possibility, the kind that comes from knowing you're exactly where you belong. For Elsa, each day at the Institute was more than just another mission—it was a celebration of love, resilience, and the family they had built together and Elsa was so glad that she had been saved that one day all because of the people who cared for her, if it hadn't been for them she had been lost in the darkness forever awaiting for the moment she had broken more but, right now here she was with her husband and her child in happiness and love and she couldn't wait for what the future held.....
