Chapter 51 - Farewell

Ralph POV...

Pang... a crispy slap sound echoed around Rion room. My left cheek feels burn and sting, a first slap I have ever receive from Rion. He really mad when I tell him, I have rejected Kai. Rion is pacing around his room with a massive headache and guilty

"Sorry, my hand work faster than my brain..." He apologizes when he calm down.

"Never mind. You have a valid excuse to do it. I mean, I deserve it." I stare outside his glass window.

"But I still disagree with your decision. Our parents surely disappoint with you now." I shrugged my shoulder when he mentions about our parents.

"You are in love with him, Ralph. I can feel it basically because we are twin. Never lie to yourself... never Ralph."Rion tries to convince me.

I bit my lips, to restraint a tear that threatens to lose free. Rion deduction not all wrong, but the situation never side me either.

"I can't back to his side, Rion. He deserves to be happy with another person his choose by..." My heart tightens by my own word.

"Why? The little brother, I know never surrender easily. Why Ralph? Think about those three little guys. They need you... they need your mate to be a whole family. They need affection from both of you." Rion hand grip tightly on my shoulder firmly. Force me to meet his hazel eyes.

"Please understand Rion. I have a valid excuse to do it. Please just drop this conversation Rion. Please..." I begged him to stop his interrogation.

"Tell me what your valid excuse mean? You just basically run from your own problem." He still never wants to let me go easily.

"No, this is the right way Rion. Damn it! Why you never understand me? Yes, I'm in love with him whole-hardheartedly since the first day I saw him. This is for his and our children's sake too." I let my tears running freely while shout on his face.

"Why?" He asks.

"We are werewolf different from vampire Rion. After we found our mate, we solely dedicate our life just for them. If one of us dies, the left one will fall into a deep depresses and slowly walk to death path. Unless Moon Goddess decides to grants another chance. But it's rare..." I wipe my tear which rainy my face and blurry my sight.

"What you mean Ralph." He sounds defeat.

"We might die in that war Rion. No one can guarantee we can out alive. In my case, I hook Kai in a harsh fate knot. I mean if I die, mean Kai also dies in the same time without any excuse. Who will raise our children? If he continue live, he can raise them better, protect them until he close his eyes because old decease. That's why I reject him, to save his life from my fate."

"No, we will out alive, Ralph. You and me... we will alive. I promise." Rion voice still sounds a crack. He gets up and kicks the chair.

After a few minutes, he come closer and grabs me into his warm embrace. I sob in his chest like a little kid. Truthfully, I want to grow old with Kai, raise our pups together and seeing our grandchildren. I love him no matter what I have through my life.

Now, I repeat my own dark history, reject, and leave him when he needs me utmost. But, I didn't have any other option. I willing to sacrifice myself if that can guarantee their safety and bright future.

Knock... knock... knock...

A door knock breaks our hugging session. I excuse myself to his balcony; take a fresh air to refresh myself. Rion open the door, Kurt and Jeremy present themselves.

"Rion, we have finished the last stage preparation, our troop had filled no man's land. What's your next order?" Jeremy told Rion.

"I hope we can avoid this meaningless war. It never brings any benefit, but huge loss. How many souls will sacrifice this time?" Rion sighed.
