Jodha has already left the prison but her mind remained occupied with Sharifuddin's warning.
Abu Mali's conspiracy was no small matter. If the information was true, the Shahenshah's life was in grave danger.
Yet another concern awaited her inside the palace.
News had arrived from Amer that her elder brother, Bhagwan Das, would soon be visiting Agra. Accompanying him would be her beloved younger sister, Shivani.
The news brought a smile to Jodha's face after many days.
The following afternoon, the royal family gathered to welcome the guests from Amer.
The sisters embraced warmly.
"We have missed you so much, Jiji-sa," Shivani said.
"And we have missed you too," Jodha replied affectionately.
Bhagwan Das greeted the royal family with respect, and soon everyone was engaged in conversation.
Among those present was the Shahenshah's younger brother.
The moment his eyes fell upon Shivani, he seemed unable to look away.
Her grace, innocence, and cheerful nature immediately caught his attention.
Shivani, however, remained completely unaware.
She spent most of her time with Jodha, excitedly telling her stories from Amer.
Later that evening, after everyone had retired to their chambers, Shivani sat alone near a window.
The moonlight illuminated her face as she carefully removed a folded letter hidden within her belongings.
A smile appeared on her lips.
It was a letter from Tejwant.
The man she loved.
Not a prince.
Not a nobleman.
Merely a talented architect from Mathura.
To the world, their relationship was impossible.
She was a Rajput princess.
He was a commoner.
No one in Amer would ever agree to such a marriage.
With trembling hands, Shivani unfolded the letter.
His words carried the same promise he had repeated countless times before.
He wrote that Agra was their only hope.
Now that she had come to visit Jodha Begum, it would be easier for him to travel to Agra without attracting suspicion.
From there, they could leave together for Mathura.
Far away from royal duties, political alliances, and family expectations.
Far away from the restrictions that separated them.
In Mathura, they could marry and begin a new life together.
A life where Shivani would not be a princess and Tejwant would not be a commoner.
They would simply be two people in love.
Tears gathered in Shivani's eyes as she read the letter.
She loved her family deeply.
Especially Jodha.
The thought of deceiving them filled her with guilt.
Yet the thought of losing Tejwant forever was unbearable.
Carefully folding the letter, Shivani pressed it against her heart.
She did not realize that fate had already begun weaving a complicated web around her.
For while Jodha worried about Abu Mali's conspiracy against the Shahenshah, another storm was quietly approaching the Mughal palace.
A storm that would soon place Shivani's love, Jodha's loyalty, and the honor of both Amer and Agra at stake.
