A piercing scream echoed through my room from a tiny receiver... I was on Skype speaking to Erin and Sarah. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to do this through a monitor, with the speakers more than half up, huh?
"Will you guys be quiet? I'm not home alone, ya know?"
"Well, can you blame us? Skye! You got a cute guy's number! And he's a guy in uniform! And! He's currently texting you this very moment!" Erin exclaimed through the monitor.
Well, she's not wrong.
As she said that, my phone vibrated again. Greyson texted me back. We were currently talking about what our lives has been like up to now. At least, he is, I'm not exactly going into full detail. He hasn't given up on asking me out. Every now and then, he'd ask nonchalantly—sneaking it into our conversation—and I'd still say no. But he was determined, which is something I admire no less.
So, what r u doing now? He texted.
I'm talking with my friends thru Skype. Erin back in California, and Sarah from here in VA I replied.
"Yeah! Hey, you think you can hook me up with one of his friends?" Sarah giggled through the other window.
"Sarah, you have Lolo." I stated.
"What do you mean?"
I had to refrain from face-palming myself, "Never mind."
"So, what did he say?" Erin's face was up so close to the screen, you can see her nostrils.
This girl.
"Will you sit back down in a regular position please? I can see your boogers."
"Excuse me, I resent that." She retaliated.
Well, she has a good reason to. Erin's a neat freak. She was hygienic robot in high school, and she still is. It balanced out my piggy personality to be honest with you.
But you know what they say, opposites attract.
"Okay, can we stop talking about what's in our noses and focus back on this supposed, cute guy, Skye is texting?" Sarah laughed, interrupting, "So, what did he say just now?"
"He asked what I'm doing right now."
"And you said...?"
"That I'm talking to the both of you."
"Does Fabien know about him?" Erin asked.
I shook my head, "No. I'll tell him about Greyson when I get to know him a little better."
"Are you planning on telling the rest of our friends?"
"Uh." I scratched my head. I haven't even though about telling them.
"Did you want me to?"
"No. It's on me. I should be the one to tell them. But now that I'm thinking about it, I'm afraid of what Leet might do."
"Skye, Elijah's all the way there in California. What can he possibly do?" Sarah assured.
"Oh. You'd be surprised." Erin concluded. She inclined to me, "And Connor might have a say in it too."
"Connor, Con—oh! One of the twins right? What did you say his nickname was?" Sarah asked.
"Omega." Erin and I answered.
"Well, why would what he says make a difference?"
I shrugged, "Well..."
"Noo." Sarah gaped, figuring out why I blushed all of a sudden.
