"Who do you think you are, kid?" the leader of the villains sneers. "Do you think you're All Might or something?! You're in for a rude awakening!"
"All Might this, All Might that..." I sigh. "You seem pretty obsessed."
I can't see him, but behind that hand covering his face, he must be pulling quite a face, judging by his clenched fists. But he's right—I feel particularly confident, which is definitely a first.
"Of course you're confident, partner—your last fight was against a Makai knight at full strength; a few bugs aren't going to scare you!" Ddraig exclaims.
"...You might be right, but I've lost all the strength I used to have when facing him..." I scan the Noumu with my eyes; it stands motionless, waiting for an order. "If there's one thing that's going to cause me trouble, it has to be this thing—if that's what they're planning to use to kill All Might... No, I have to stop them." [BOOST]
"But don't forget that you're still recovering—use your weapons sparingly, or you'll quickly get tired," Ddraig reminds me.
"That's true..." I meet his gaze, barely able to move. "But the priority is to rescue the hero who fell in battle." I activate my magical circuits.
"So, kid, after that big speech, are you just going to stand there?" asks a thug.
"He must realize what a mess he's in. Hahah!!!" another one mocks.
"Kirishima, I'll keep them busy long enough for you to catch up with the others, okay?" I ask him.
Since I didn't get an answer, I turned to him. He was clearly hesitating, clearly scared—and how could I blame him?—but he didn't want to march either. I could see his legs trembling as he weighed the two options: fight or flight.
(Hmm, he'll be a great hero one day, but he doesn't have enough courage or experience yet. I hope he knows I wouldn't hold it against him if he left...)
He looks at me, then turns his gaze toward the thirty or so remaining villains, before fixing his eyes on our teacher, who is lying on the ground, bathed in his own blood. After a moment's thought, he slaps his own face and steps up beside me, using his Alter to turn his arms to stone. I see him wince—probably from the burn on his arm and the exhaustion—but his face is determined.
"I don't know if I'll be much help to you, but let me fight by your side, Senji," he says.
Faced with such motivation, I can only agree, even though I would have preferred to know he was safe; having him as a brother in arms is just as valuable.
"Okay, let's go!" I exclaim, my body glowing with my magical circuits.
"They're up to something! Go teach them a lesson!!" orders the leader of the villains.
All our enemies are rushing toward us, armed or wielding their powers, ready for a fight. Kirishima waits, placing his complete trust in me. [BOOST] Suddenly, a massive smoke screen forms around the two of us, caused by the appearance of about twenty clones of myself throwing themselves at the villains, who are lost in the smoke.
"Senji... you've got an absurd amount of energy to make so many clones..." Kirishima is speechless; I snap him out of it by placing my hand on his shoulder and strengthening him.
"Yeah... It's not always easy to have so many, but it has its advantages." I sigh. "I'm heading over to Aizawa—take care, Kirishima."
"I'll do my best to help you!" he exclaims, feeling the power surging through him.
