Hermione's POV

I stumbled out of bed looking for something, anything I could possibly throw up in. It was still dark outside, as I could see the moon through the windows, and my eyes were hazy as I had only just woken up, which definitely made my search harder but soon I came across what was unmistakably a bucket. I picked it up just in time, the vomit burned my throat as it descended into the bucket. I looked around as my eyes cleared, it was definitely still night time everybody else was still fast asleep in bed. I carried the bucket with me to my bed then climbing back in I put it on the floor beside my bed, and fell asleep once again.

It felt like only minutes later I was being shaken awake but as I looked towards the window, I saw it was now morning, the sunlight was beginning to spill through the windows. I looked to my side to see Parvati Patil standing over me, a disgusted look on her face as she glanced down at the bucket that lay beside my bed, as I sat up she turned her face back to me and said "Come on, it's time for breakfast!" I wanted some more sleep, I mumbled to Parvati.

"I want more sleep. In a minute." But she ignored me by tugging on my arm, she didn't seem to know her own strength as she pulled me out of bed and onto the floor. She said.

"You need to get up now, it is-" she glanced at her watch "-10 o'clock!" I jumped up to my feet immediately.

"Well, why didn't you say so? Lessons start in half an hour!" She shrugged and walked out. In a rush, I quickly got dressed, brushed my hair and ran down the stairs into the common room and out the portrait. I ran until I reached the hall, and saw to my great relief, many students still sitting there. As I scanned the Gryffindor table, I couldn't see Harry or Ron anywhere and they weren't in the common room either. I suddenly realised they must have already set off to their first lesson, probably the first time in their whole time at school they would be at their lessons before her. I quickly ate some breakfast and started to run back to the Gryffindor Tower for my bag, when I suddenly needed to throw up again. There were no toilets nearby and lots of students, as everyone was going to their first lesson. I had nowhere I could possibly go, so I walked over to a corner and pulling my hair back, I tried to discreetly throw up, not long after, I had cleaned up my vomit with my wand and was having a drink of water, someone shouted my name. I spun around and saw Fred making his way over. He finally reached me and he said.

"Hospital Wing." Then seeing my face he added "Now Hermione." He followed me all the way and then when I entered he turned and left. I looked around, I hadn't been in here for ages. It was still pristine white as it always was. Then suddenly Madam Pomfrey came bustling over and asked.

"Are you alright, dear?" Her question was answered, when I needed to vomit again and ran over to a nearby bucket. I vomited into it, and turned to look back at Madam Pomfrey. She looked concerned so she quickly bustled me over to a nearby bed, then disappeared into her office to get her wand and some medicine she thought I might need. I waited silently for her to come back. When she came back she poured some liquid into a goblet and the she passed the goblet to me and said "Drink all of this then try and get some sleep." I drained the goblet in one. I laid back and closed my eyes and waited for sleep to come to me.

Draco's POV

I slipped into the dungeon, that held my potions classroom, slightly late. I looked around for the bushy, brown hair of Hermione Granger but I couldn't see it. I felt myself droop, I wouldn't be able to talk to her again today. I would ask Potter and the Weasel at the end of the lesson and hopefully they would answer. My concentration was terrible during the lesson as I couldn't stop thinking about her. At the end, I had failed to make the potion we had been set to make but I didn't care, now I could ask Potter where Hermione was. I slipped out just behind Potter as he left the classroom. I quickly caught up with him and stood in front of him blocking his way then trying to bring my usual sneer so he wouldn't wonder what had happened to me I asked. "Where's the mudblood, Potter?" He tried to step around me but I didn't let him.

"Hospital Wing." He answered reluctantly. Then he stalked off leaving me standing in the middle of the corridor. My face shocked and going pale. Soon people started to give me weird looks so I pulled myself together and sped off towards the Hospital Wing. When I entered, I spotted her right away, she was one of three patients. As I drew nearer I noticed how her skin was a pale shade of green and there was bucket full of sick beside her, her face was glistening with sweat and her hair was stuck to her face. I pulled up a chair beside her and watched as she slept. Soon her eyelids started to flicker and she woke up, she looked extremely surprised when she saw me beside her. She said "It's creepy watching people sleep you know, Malfoy and you should be at dinner."

"I'm not hungry." I replied, bringing my chair closer to her bed. She looked at me, her eyes filled with gratitude and I was sure I was imagining it but it looked like there was a bit of longing in her eyes. Then suddenly she pulled me into a hug and as we drew apart our eyes met. We both froze then slowly leaned in and soon we were attached in a passionate kiss so much better than any one I had ever had before. She eventually pulled away, I now definitely saw longing in her eyes mixed with sadness. Then suddenly Madam Pomfrey came out her office. She walked over, turned to Hermione and said.

"Hermione, I've got some good/bad news for you, and Ron Weasley, I believe." I flinched at his name, he was so close to Hermione, as close as I longed to be. Hermione noticed and gave me a reassuring squeeze on the arm then a small smile.

"Tell me then, please." Hermione said.

"Don't you want Ron to be here?" Madam Pomfrey asked, a confused look on her face.

"No." She replied shortly. She squeezed me on the arm again and this time when I looked up, she looked at me with kindness she had never shown to me before. I knew I was starting to win her over, she believed me! My heart leapt, these past couple weeks I had spent trying to convince her I was sincere, were working out then.

"Okay, then." Madam Pomfrey replied. "Prepare yourself now." Madam Pomfrey paused as Hermione took a deep breath. "You're pregnant with Ron Weasley's child." I flinched they had done it, she had done it with him, how could she ever love me more than the father of her child. My dreams, hopes, wishes and plans all fell down around me as she said those words. I looked up to see Hermione looking extremely shocked and to see Madam Pomfrey walking back to her office. She turned to me shocked and sad at the same time. "How old is it?" She asked to Madam Pomfrey's retreating back.

She turned around and answered. "Three weeks."

She whispered to herself "The last time we were together was four weeks ago I must have fallen pregnant then." Then she whispered to me "I'm sorry Draco. I'm so sorry, Draco I didn't realise I was pregnant. I still think I like you though and want to go out with you, I'll break up with Ron tonight, if you still want to be with me, that is." She looked up at me her eyes filled with sadness, passion and most of all longing. I smiled at her and nodded then before I could control myself, I had embraced her then I drew her closer and kissed her full on the mouth. I drew away eventually and smiled at her.

"I should go now." I said "Crabbe and Goyle will be wondering where I am." I started to walk away then turned around to wave at her and say "Bye!" and with that, I left, as light as a feather and happier than I can remember being for years.
