Hermione's POV
Draco was nowhere to be found in this house, where on earth could he be? He couldn't be so stupid as to leave the house, what if anyone saw him? And there was a very high likelihood of that, Voldemort's Death Eaters were constantly wandering the streets now, they could be anywhere and he was pretty noticeable. He had platinum blonde hair that was typical of Malfoys' and he looked almost exactly like his father, they would spot him from a mile away. I hoped he wasn't doing anything too stupid and that he would be back sometime soon. I didn't want to have to go rescue somebody again, that very nearly ended badly the first time.
I sat on the edge of the sofa, picking at the edges of my nails as I waited for Draco to return, what was he up to. I wished he would hurry up, I don't think I could deal with worrying about people for much longer. I would have no nails left to speak of. I walked upstairs and picked up a book off of my bedside table then returned back downstairs, where I sat and read it. I kept checking my watch after each chapter of the book, the minutes seemed to pass by like hours. Then I heard the sound of feet landing on the floor in the hallway, I jumped up almost running to the door. Draco was stood there, but he didn't look at all like Draco with muddy brown hair and a Death Eater mask half covering his head. I was a bit overwhelmed, I didn't know whether to slap him for being gone for so long or ask what on earth he was wearing or where he had been. My first instinct was to hit him. He smiled at me as I reached up and slapped him on the shoulder. His face suddenly went shocked.
"What was that for?" He asked, looking at me with his eyes wide in shock.
"Where. On. Earth. Have. You. Been?" I asked, slapping him between each word. "I've been so worried, you didn't tell anyone where you had gone and I come back and you have just disappeared. You have no idea how worried I've been about you especially after Willow, Sirius and Ginny." I saw the realisation dawn on his face and his mouth dropped open slightly.
"Oh, I'm so sorry Hermione, I didn't think. I just had an idea and I wanted to see if I was correct. And the most important thing is I was." He replied as he pulled out an item that looked like a tiara, then I realised that it wasn't a tiara.
"Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem! Where did you find that? It's been missing for centuries nobody knew where it was." I said, now my turn to be shocked. I definitely didn't expect him to bring that back or anything, for that matter.
"I found it in the Room of Requirement." He answered, I hit him again.
"You idiot! You went to Hogwarts alone, in a disguise that could easily be ruined?" I said, exasperated. He looked down almost as though he was ashamed.
"Yes but it worked out fine didn't it? I'm back safely, nobody knew I was there and I got the diadem." He said, looking back up at me with a smile.
"I will hit you again if you don't stop looking so pleased with yourself but I have to give it to you. You managed to find something nobody has found for years. But why exactly did you feel the need to go get this from Hogwarts and risk someone spotting you?" I asked.
"It's just when I spent so much time in the Room of Requirement, a while back, I remembered seeing something and thinking it was really out of place. There was something not right about it, it seemed dark and also so fancy to be with the rest of the junk in there. It might be a horcrux, but I don't know I've never seen one myself. Harry might know though." He said, holding it out to me. I took it from him, looking at it and the blue stones set into it. There did seem something strange about it, in a similar way to the goblet and locket. I would give it to Harry, he would know for definite.
"I'll go show it to Harry." I said, I had a feeling he was in the empty room upstairs. There was no furniture for some reason and the walls were covered in the Black family tree. It was a strange choice of decoration but hardly surprising considering it was the Black family and they were all about their heritage. Sirius seemed to spend a lot of time in there, he was to be found either in there or in the kitchen. You would think being a Black he might already know his family tree and not constantly need to look at it, but he was one of the only Blacks left so maybe it was nice to look at his family and remember when they were still alive. Although as far as I was aware he didn't really get on well with his family and spent most of his time with James and his family. He was like their adopted son.
Draco followed me up the stairs and I was correct in thinking that they were in that room. They were having a conversation that I couldn't hear but I could see Harry's mouth moving through the open door as he spoke. I knocked on the door as I entered, they both turned to look as Draco and I entered the room.
"Hermione, did you want something?" Harry asked. As his eyes dropped to what I held in my hand. "What's that and where did it come from?" He looked at it with suspicion.
"Draco got it from Hogwarts, we think it's another horcrux." I said, handing it to him. He took it carefully. His eyes went wide with shock.
"It is, but why was it in Hogwarts and where in Hogwarts?" He asked.
"I don't know why, but it was in the Room of Requirement." Draco responded. Harry looked at him, surprised by his input.
"Well, that's another horcrux found then." Harry said, happily shocked by that.
