"Draco." They said, I turned to see Snape behind me with a stern look on his sharp face.

Draco's POV
"Minerva, do you mind if I borrow Malfoy?" Snape drawled. McGonagall turned, her face shocked at Snape's sudden appearance.
"Of course Severus, go ahead." She replied, her face returning to normal. Then she turned back to the blackboard to continue using her wand to note important things down for us to write into our books. I stood and followed Snape out. He led me down to his office in the basement in silence. I could remember the last time I went down to his office, when my father started shouting and screaming at me for dating Hermione. As we got nearer, I got colder and colder as we got deeper and deeper into the castle. Then we finally turned the last corner and there was the door to his office. The door was open slightly and I could see somebody stood in there in a black cloak. We approached and Snape pushed the door open fully, revealing my father stood there looking at me expectantly. I stepped into the office unwillingly, if he started shouting at me, as he had last time, I would leave again.
"I'll give you two some privacy." Snape said and he left closing the door tight behind him. I heard his footsteps receding down the corridor as I turned to face my father, he was sober for once and he was well dressed, he had brushed his hair too, something was going on.
"I need you to meet someone. Someone important." My father said. I instantly noticed his hand was hovering near his left arm, where I knew his dark mark was. "Follow me son." He opened the door and led me out of Snape's office. I knew where we going, I knew that he was back. I just didn't think I would be needed so soon, I could, I should turn back. But he would find me, he would make me come in the end, no matter how hard I tried to avoid it. So it was better to go now willingly, than later by force. He would make me, be one of them, a Death Eater. What I had been told I would be all my life, and that I should be happy about my future prospects of murder and torture of innocent people. I thought of Hermione and wondered what she would think about this, I could guess that it wouldn't be positive by any means. I pushed the thought of her out of my head, I couldn't let the thought of her be poisoned by this. By him. "Draco!" My father shouting my name shook me out of my thoughts.
"Pardon?" I asked. He was watching me, with his dark grey eyes studying me, as if he could see everything about me.
"Have you stopped talking to that mudblood?"He said, whispering the word mudblood as if it was a dirty word. Well it definitely was to him. I debated whether to lie to him or be truthful. If I told told the truth, he might not take me to him. I decided to lie, to protect Hermione and selfishly, myself.
"Yes, father." I lied smoothly. I kept my face blank trying not to reveal anything. He turned back looking satisfied. When he turned, I pointed my wand at my head. Worried Voldemort would use Legilimency on me. I murmured some incantations that I knew, putting locks on my brain, something I had learned to do years ago to avoid my father and family looking inside my head. When I was sure my memories were securely locked away, I put my wand back away. I turned my attention back to where we were going, I realised we were at the front doors of the castle. There were two brooms by the door. He passed one to me and we flew to the gate. Once we were past the wards, we landed, leaning our brooms against the gate, and my dad took my hand and we apparated away. When we landed we were just inside the gates of Malfoy Manor. It was in darkness apart from one light in the Dining Hall. We walked up to the door, my mother Narcissa opened it for us. She looked terrified, she was shaking her head as if in disbelief, I didn't know what her problem was.
"No, no, no. Not Draco, no. He's not having Draco too. My boy. I've got to keep him safe." She murmured to herself. I rolled my eyes at her worry, I would be fine, I would live, at least I hoped so. As I stepped over the threshold, she pulled me into a bone crushing hug. Murmuring, "I love you, I love you." In my ear over and over again. After a couple seconds, I pushed away, this was not what I needed right now, my mother worrying over me and acting as if I was about to die. I followed my father down the hall to the dining room. He pushed open the door, inside was a lot of black robed people stood around the room, some were sat at the long table. And there at the head of the table it was him, this was the first time I had ever actually seen him, I had heard so many stories over the years I felt like I had met him before.
"Lucius, Draco." He said. Turning to us as we entered. His eyes were black, and all that was left of his nose was slits. "Come to me Draco." He said beckoning me to him. I walked over, leaving my father who stayed in the doorway. I came to a stop and stood in front of him, he picked up his wand off of the table. Without saying another word he pointed it at my arm and I pulled up my sleeve. Then he murmured a spell and with a blast of black light, pain shot through my arm but I didn't make a sound, the Dark Mark appeared upon my arm, writhing and jet black. "Welcome, Draco." He pulled me into an awkward hug. As soon as he let me go, I took the opportunity to take a few steps back away from him. "To prove yourself worthy of being a Death Eater, Draco, I have a mission for you. Kill Dumbledore. Kill him. And I will accept you into my ranks. Now go."
