Hermione's POV

I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off with Ginny, she had barely said a word to me in week. Considering we were in a house full of guys, we normally spent a large proportion of our time together to get away from them driving us mad with their stupid antics, like running off to Hogwarts to get a horcrux. It was helpful of Draco but so extremely stupid. Ginny spent nearly all her time helping her mum clean the house or in her shared bedroom with Harry. I was fed up of lacking any female conversation which is something I never thought I would say as I used to think it mundane and boring, talking about boys and other girl's hair. Yet most of the time me and Ginny didn't talk about things like that we were both too bright for that.

Right now was one of those moments when she was sat in her room so I decided to pounce on her and find out what was going on with her. That way she couldn't dodge me like I felt she had been every time I had come near her recently. I put down the book I was flipping through absentmindedly on the table beside the armchair I was sat on, Draco glanced up but went back to watching the sun get lower in the sky through the window. His hair was so light it nearly reflected the sun light, he looked so beautiful in that moment. Unaware I was looking at him, his hair like a bright halo around him, his jawline and cheekbones so perfect and chiselled. I couldn't resist placing a kiss on his forehead as I walked by. He looked up at me shocked by my sudden and very unexpected display of affection. I went up the stairs and hesitated outside Ginny's door, I didn't know whether to knock or just go straight in, that way she couldn't tell me to go away. Well she could try but I wouldn't listen I missed talking to her, spending time with her and not being bored out of my mind because she was always doing something that would liven up the most dull of days.

I pushed open the door and walked in, I knew I wasn't going to interrupt anything because Harry was talking about something down in the kitchen with Sirius and Remus, who had arrived not that long ago. I also think Ron was hovering around with them too. Mrs Weasley was back at her house with her other children and husband, I think she missed being in her own house. It also wasn't as though her children were old enough to look after themselves, although with Ron that was debatable. But he had picked up a couple things off his mother over the years. Ginny looked up quickly as I came in, letting out a puff of breath in surprise.

"Hermione, can I help you with something?" Ginny asked, as she pulled her duvet up quickly to cover herself which seemed strange. "Or could you just leave me to have a nap?"

"You don't normally take naps or spend all day in your bedroom or avoid me at all costs. What is wrong with you? You can talk to me Ginny, I'm meant to be your friend. I've barely seen you in days and when I have you've barely said a word to me." I asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed, watching her face closely for some kind of reaction. She looked away towards the drawn curtains, her hands resting on her stomach. "You're keeping something from me." She scrunched up her face as if she was debating something in her mind.

"I promised Harry I wouldn't tell anyone until I had no choice, that's why I have been avoiding you so you wouldn't notice because it's getting more and more noticeable." Ginny replied, still avoiding my eyes.

"Ginny just tell me, I won't tell anyone if you don't want me too. You can trust me, just talk to me." I said, reaching out to place my hand on her arm. She seemed to flinch away slightly as if she didn't want me to touch her. She didn't make me remove it though. She just loosed a deep sigh and then moving her arm she pulled her duvet down, revealing a small but unmistakable bump. I couldn't stop my jaw from dropping but only slightly and I hoped it wasn't noticeable to Ginny.

"Oh wow. Congratulations to you and Harry, when did you realise? I hope only for as long as you've been avoiding me." I said with a smile, but she didn't reciprocate. She seemed scared and looked away, again towards the window.

"Yeah, a couple weeks ago but Hermione, I'm scared. Voldemort is coming, this is such a bad time to have a baby and I'm still so young, I'm basically signing my life away, travelling the world and being a Quidditch player. All the things I have ever wanted to do." She responded, finally looking me in the eye.

"I know how you feel Ginny, Willow wasn't exactly in my life plan. But I knew I had to move on and deal with it, things don't always happen in the order you want them to. So you adjust your plans and change them. They may change so much they are nothing like your original plans but they will still end out how you want them to, in the end." I replied, taking and squeezing her hand. "It will be okay, you just have to believe that things will work out fine. And they will, you have your whole family to support you, Harry and me of course. Don't worry about it, I would also tell Ron sooner, rather than later. You know how offended he is when he is the last person to find out about something." She nodded her head in agreement and pulled her covers back up.

"Now thank you very much, I would like to sleep." She said, shooing me away. I stood with a smile and left, that was not what I expected but I was glad she had finally told me.
