Hermione's POV
I felt like I couldn't breathe for a second, I felt like I might faint. One of the most insane Death Eaters sat right beside my baby daughter. This was not a situation I ever wanted her to be in, I wanted to keep her safe. But it was a bit late now.
"Tut, tut, Draco. Now this will be difficult to explain, won't it? And let me guess the rest of your rabble has gone to get my ever pleasant cousin and the blood traitor." Bellatrix said, a disgusting smirk on her face. Molly let out a breath that sounded almost like a hiss and Arthur placed a hand on her shoulder. "Oh what a pleasure we have two blood traitors right here. Quite a fight your girl put up, even while being tortured." She said while picking at her nails as though she was talking about the weather. Arthur pulled Molly against him as she went to take a step forward. "I would have thought you would have hexed me by now Molly. How disappointing."
"I would hex you but I won't waste breath on you." Molly said, but she looked like she might hex Bellatrix anyway. Bellatrix let out a cackle.
"Well that's not what I'm here about, to rile up blood traitors. I'm more here to look after the mudblood's child." Then her dark eyes fell on me. I resisted the urge to hex her with every hex I knew because she was far too close to my baby.
"Don't you touch her." I said, stepping past Draco into the room. She smirked at me.
"What a confident little mudblood you are." She said, I could almost feel Draco bristle beside me at the name even though he himself had once called me that.
"I'm not confident." I said. "I just know my abilities and that I could very easily take you on."
"Hermione." Draco said beneath his breath. But I didn't turn I wouldn't back down if it meant Willow could be saved.
"Well you can take me on but what about someone you love." She said. In my moment of confusion she suddenly pulled out her wand and pointed it at Draco. "Imperio." Surprise flashed across Draco's eyes for a second but then they glazed over. I gasped and took a step away.
"Molly, Arthur, Tonks go and help the others." I said, pulling out my wand they all looked at me like I was crazy. "GO!" I shouted. They did as I said and quickly left, I just wanted to make sure nobody else was hurt. I turned to see Narcissa glaring at Bellatrix.
"My son! How could you?" She asked. "He's your nephew." She rose to her feet. Bellatrix spun to face her and stepped towards her so she was centimetres from her
"He's a traitor, he deserves it and don't try and hex me Narcissa or I'll use Crucio instead." She spat at her.
"You wouldn't dare." She said, backing away from her sister.
"I wouldn't be so sure, dearest sister." Bellatrix said. While she was still distracted with Narcissa I took the opportunity to hex her. Bellatrix fell back and Draco still stood still in the doorway, I would sort him out in a minute, my main focus was Narcissa.
"Take Willow and get her to Harry and the others." I said, she just looked at me. "Please." She left the room quickly, I then turned back to Bellatrix. She was getting back to her feet, there was a horrible sort of smile on her face/
"Now you're asking for it mudblood. Oh, Draco." She said, I turned to him. Willing him to fight against it but that was a mistake. "Expelliarmus." And my wand flew out of my hand, for someone who was meant to be the brightest witch of my age I could be really stupid sometimes, I backed against the wall knowing that running for the door was a bad idea. Then I would expose my back. "Now, Draco. I think she deserves a bit of pain for embarrassing me like that. Crucio should do it." He lifted his wand pointing at me, he wouldn't do it, he would fight it do it to Bellatrix instead. But his eyes were still glazed over, no sign of the man I knew and loved.
"Draco, please fight it. Don't do it. You're stronger than this." I said. Bellatrix just cackled, that's when I knew she was too strong for him and there was no point begging so I just looked into those grey eyes I knew so well.
"Crucio." His voice was cold and clear as he said it and then I felt wave after wave of pain hit me again and again. I fell to the floor, I refused to cry. I wouldn't show any weakness in front of her. Then suddenly she pulled my arm to her, I tried to resist but I couldn't.
"I think you should have a constant reminder of this day for the rest of your sad, little life, mudblood." She said, then with a searing pain a brand appeared on my arm that said mudblood, it looked as though it had been tattooed on. I wished I had my wand so I could curse her and she could feel the pain I was feeling but she headed to the door. "Draco, keep going until she cries. Then we'll see how strong she is. You can keep this." And she threw my wand on the ground a few feet in front of me but I couldn't move to reach it. I looked up at Draco and still those glazed eyes glared down at me as he repeated.
"Crucio." I curled into myself as the pain hit me, I could make it all stop if I just cried but I didn't want to give in like that. I knew if I let it go on too long I could lose my mind, which wasn't hard to comprehend with the pain that you had to endure. I looked up to see that Bellatrix had now gone, probably to go after the others, I hoped that they would be gone before she reached them.
