Ginny's POV

Harry and I had left Grimmauld Place early in the morning to search for a horcrux as Harry finally had an idea as to where one might be. The diary was destroyed, thank god, it gave me shivers whenever I thought of that year, so I tried to avoid remembering it. The ring was destroyed as well. Those were the only ones that had been found so far, there was the fake locket that Harry had got with Dumbledore but there was no idea as to where the actual one was. But Harry had an idea that Voldemort might have hid the locket in his family home, which he somehow knew the location of, but I wouldn't question it, if it meant we were one step closer to defeating Voldemort I would take it.

Harry skimmed high over the ground on his broom, just a couple feet away from me, he always did handle a broom so well. I wonder whether he missed Quidditch, I know I missed it, the fun we had, the teamwork, the jokes we would make. But that was not what I should be thinking about, I should be focused on us finding the horcrux, us getting one step closer to defeating Voldemort. I glanced up to see a shadow on the horizon ahead, the house certainly hadn't been lived in for a while, it looked dark and decrepit. It almost blended in with the dark fog around it, as if no-one was allowed to see the house, though I don't know why they would want to. Just looking at the exterior gave me shivers, though I wouldn't say that, Harry seemed fine. Not at all unnerved by the dark house we were flying towards.

"We should land here." Harry said, breaking the silence. He pointed his broom down, descending smoothly and I followed. "Just in case there's someone watching the horcrux, we don't want them to know we're coming." I released a breath I didn't know I was holding as my feet touched down on the grass, from the ground the house looked larger than I had initially thought, which didn't help how little I wanted to enter the house. Harry spotted me looking up at the house and he turned to it too. "They seem like they were a lovely family, don't they?" He said. He dropped his broom onto the grass, I put mine beside it.

"I'm just glad that they're not still about." I said. I pushed away my fear, there was nothing to be scared of, nobody lived in this house anymore, they were dead and buried and Voldemort was far away from here at Malfoy Manor. We would be in and out before anyone even knew we had been here. But to be on the safe side I pulled out my wand and Harry did too, we started towards the house slowly. "Where are we going to start?" I asked, looking at the size of the house.

"On the ground floor." He said, with a smirk. I restrained the urge to swat at him.

"I meant which room? And are we going to split up?" I asked, glaring at him. He chuckled quietly.

"It wouldn't be clever to split up, but quicker so you stay downstairs, I'll go upstairs. I have no idea how many rooms there even are or if he would have an attachment to any of them." He said, I nodded in agreement. We reached the large, black door, it seems they had a very limited colour palette for their house. Harry tried first just pushing it and surprisingly it actually opened with a fairly quiet creak for such an old house that hadn't been lived in for years. This immediately made me suspicious and I noticed Harry tense too, his hand gripping his wand tighter. He stepped through the door and I edged through behind him. There was no sign of anyone, I relaxed a bit but stayed alert. Harry turned to me and pointed up the stairs, I nodded. He walked away and up the stairs, I turned to the first door it was open a crack. I didn't want to open it further and make a noise that could attract unwanted attention, so I edged through the gap into the room. I glanced around, looking for anywhere it could have been hidden. I noticed broken glass on the floor by the windows where they had been smashed, there was also some graffiti on the walls but everything else seemed untouched. I knew accio wouldn't work on such an object, which would make this process a whole lot longer and more awkward. It seemed this was a sitting room, I walked over to a large chest on the floor by a large black fireplace. There was a rusted lock holding it closed.

"Alohomora." I murmured, pointing my wand at it. It dropped to the floor with a thud, I held my breath waiting for the sound of any movement but there was nothing. I pulled it open, and all I saw was piles of paper and ink. I turned away with a sigh, I had hoped that it could be over that quickly, but I realised Voldemort would never be that obvious, it always had to be the most obscure place. I continued to look around the room but found nothing. There was a door leading off the living room, and I had already pulled it open when I noticed the faint line of light underneath the door. I looked ahead to see the fireplace in the room was lit and two men in dark cloaks were stood there, they turned as I pulled open the door. I had no hope of running and I doubted I could take the both of them on my own.

"Well, what a nice surprise." A raspy voice said. I took a step backwards. One of them laughed. "Do you think you can get away that easy?" They walked towards me.

"Immobulus." I shouted, hoping that in the process I could draw Harry's attention. One of the men fell but the other did the counter spell in a second and they carried on walking. I barely heard their spells they said them so fast as they edged closer, I deflected them all but one and suddenly my wand flew into the man's hand. "Harry." I shouted, the men jumped at the sound of that but didn't stop, he would probably be a bonus. I heard the sound of footsteps down the stairs, then the men grabbed me. Harry skidded to a halt at the door, I saw a glint of gold in his hand, he had found the locket. I knew this wouldn't end well, if he tried to fight. "Run." I shouted, he stayed still for a second but that was all the men needed, they were suddenly aiming their curses at him and with one glance back, he sprinted from the room. The men didn't pursue him.

"This one will do." One of the men said, then the world twisted as we apparated away.
