Ginny's POV
"I'm late and I'm worried." I said quietly. The look of shock on my mum's face made me feel so ashamed that I had to turn away and that's when I saw a head of black hair pass by the door. I could have cursed, Harry was most definitely not meant to hear that and now he had. The thoughts that would be running through his head, oh he would really be freaking out. That was another problem I would have to sort but it would have to wait. I could hear my mum struggling to put a sentence together and I turned back to her. Her face was bright red and I wasn't sure whether she was angry or shocked or both. I couldn't bear to look at her so I began to study the faded rug that was on the wooden floor. That floor creaked as she took a step towards me. She took a deep breath, obviously composing herself.
"Okay, it will be fine. We can cope with this. Have you told anyone else?" She asked, watching me closely. I even felt like her eyes dropped to my stomach although there would be no signs yet.
"No, of course not. They wouldn't be able to keep it to themselves and everyone in the wizarding world would now before tonight." I answered. She nodded.
"That's good, try to keep it between us for as long as possible. Otherwise you will get a lot of unwanted attention from other wizarding families, oh and the press because of Harry. At least I presume it's Harry?" She said.
"Yes, of course." I said, trying not to be too offended by that comment.
Harry's POV
Shoot, I most definitely was not meant to hear that but I had. Oh my god, Ginny was 16 and I was now 18, she was above legal age so I was not a paedophile but it didn't mean I didn't feel like one. Ron and Hermione were at least the same age but me and Ginny were not. I don't know if she knew I heard but I would have to bring it up. Oh, if Ron found out he would not be very happy. His little sister and me, his best friend, but he had got past us dating so I'm sure he would be able to cope, especially because he didn't have much choice. I went into the kitchen to see Hermione, Draco, Ron and Sirius having lunch. They all looked up at me in almost unison and I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Are you expecting someone? It's only me." I said.
"What a disappointment that is." Ron said, with a grin. I ignored him and went to the cupboard to start making my lunch.
About 20 minutes later, I had finished my lunch and I was sat talking with Ron and Sirius when Ginny and Molly came in. I just glanced up before carrying on with the conversation. Ginny came up behind me, wrapping her arms around me and resting her head on my shoulder. I didn't resist her touch, letting her lean against me.
"Can I talk to you, please?" She whispered in my ear.
"Sure." I said, she stepped away so that I could stand up. I followed her out of the kitchen and up into our room. She closed the door behind me and I sat down on the edge of the bed. The walls of the room were a dark green, which matched the bed spread and the curtains. The floor was a dark wood which matched all the wood in the room, like the wardrobe. I looked at all these things rather than Ginny because I knew what she was going to say. I looked out the window, at the street with all the houses that matched this one. Yet those inside could not see this house, thanks to the charms placed on it.
"Harry, I would appreciate if you actually looked at my face. I know you heard, I saw you walk past." She said, and I turned to see her watching me.
"Yes, I heard you." I said.
"Well, do you not want to talk about it?" She asked, raising her eyebrows.
"I'm not really sure what you want me to say, Ginny. Although I do have one question when would you have told me, if I hadn't walked past?" I asked, her face flushed straight away.
"I don't know, Harry, I would have told you soon but I wanted to sort myself out and talk to my mum about it first." She replied. I looked away, I realised that was a reasonable and sensible thing to do and I really couldn't hold it against her.
"Well, what do you want to do? It is up to you, it's your body and you're still only 16. I won't hold whatever you choose against you. We have the rest of our life to have a family." I said.
"I want to keep it." She blurted out, I was kind of shocked by that I would have thought she would want to have more of a life before having children.
"Then you will keep it." I said, I stood up and went to her. "It's our child and we will look after it together because I won't leave you to deal with this alone. And I'm sure all your family will support you so we will be okay." She suddenly hugged me against her, tight. "Can I breathe please, Ginny?"
"Thank you so much, Harry. I knew you would support me but I was still so worried, we're still both so young." She said, before finally releasing her vice-like grip on me.
"One last question though, are you definitely sure?" I asked.
"Well not completely, I'm a couple weeks late but that's all I have so far. I'll find out for definite soon but I'm pretty sure because I'm never late." She said. "Anyway I need some lunch so I am going back downstairs, I will talk to you later." As she turned away her stomach rumbled and I couldn't help but grin.
